Support Report: FXpansion VST to RTAS Adapter Version 2
By Dave Sheffield
updated 9-8-06

Universal Audio is proud to announce the release of version 2 of the Fxpansion VST to RTAS Adapter, available soon for UAD users! This is the second release of the popular adapter that links Pro Tools users to the ever-popular world of UAD. The adapter that is compatible with Pro Tools LE, Pro Tools TDM, and Pro Tools M-Powered has many exciting new features. Here's a sampling.

Tempo Sync support.

  • Now all your favorite UAD-1 plug-ins with tempo settings sync up with the clock in Pro Tools!

Plug-in latency is now set by the hardware buffer size.

  • Users no longer need to configure plug-in latency from the VST to RTAS Adapter!

Pro Tools TDM 7.0 support.

  • Official support for version 7 of Pro Tools LE/TDM. Users of Pro Tools versions that are pre 7.0 should use version 1.07 of the Adapter.

Accurate display for automation values.

  • Automation values no longer display as a value between zero and one.

Improved control surface support.

  • Control surfaces' values now show correctly!

Mac Intel, Universal support

  • Version 2 of the Adapter will support the new Intel Macs as well as Power PCs. Note: Universal Mac support will be releases as public beta shortly following the release of UAD Software version 4.4. Start saving for that Mac Pro!

Save Bank/Preset button support.

  • Users can now save Presets and Banks in VST format for use in other hosts.

No more loss of key commands.

  • No more loss of key-command control for Pro Tools while a UAD-1 plug-in window is selected.

VST to RTAS v.2 is only compatible with Pro Tools LE/TDM 7 and higher. For earlier versions of Pro Tools, use v1.07ua.
This is a free update for all registered UAD-1 Mackie/UAD-1/UAD-1e users.
