Amazing plugin
I was working with a vocal that was in need of serious help. I had a signal chain of 7 other plugins and still couldn't get a warm full sound and was planning on re-recording the vocal track. As a last ditch option, I purchased this plugin as the hardware was out of reach. It is now the ONLY plugin on the signal chain and made an exponential difference on the vocal and took 5 minutes to get there! My sanity check person said the vocal was "....10 times better." I would love to have the hardware, but this is an amazing substitute at 1% of the cost! Its my go to vocal plugin from now on.

The EQ is nice too, for my voice I basically just pull a bit of the (low) mids down and I'm there. All the Manley plugs are awesome and highly recommended.

I haven't tried any surgical stuff with it but I'd bet it can do that too. I'm knocking off a star just because this is one where I wish UA wasn't so dead set on sticking to the hardware interface. It might be easier to use for some if they altered the interface. All in all I'm glad I have this plug despite not wanting it.

It works incredibly well with vocals. I was surprised at how gently it boosts the vocal treble and very delicately controls it with the built-in de-esser.
It deserves to be on every vocal track in a project, as well as in the final group of all vocals. A well-designed compressor will hold your group together perfectly.J. Howard

One of my favorite preamps
I've tried it, and it's on my list for the very next purchase.
A great all around preamp. Clean, but warm, round, suitable for absolutely anything. Synths, vocals, drums, guitars, bass, whatever. Almost has a tube warmth, but with less mud, a more open top, and yet without the sharper edges you'd associate with a solid state.

Extremely Happy with this product
I had the chance to work with the hardware version of it in a studio and since then wanted to try the plugin version, it really helps to get the best out of any mic you put through it and the extra de-ess and comp features are a big plus (even tho I tend to use it very little).
I want to give more preamps a chance to try different colors but this one is my go-to at the moment, currently pairing it with a TLM 103R. Rati
