    Easy to Tame

    I like this limiter much better than the Sonnox Oxford Limiter in that it is much easier to control distortion levels. IMO, the high-fidelity of this plugin is better for me and not harsh. I like both but this one has a better fit to the sound I'm trying to achieve.

    Replaced precision limiter

    I've used the Precision Limiter for years as a somewhat transparent end of chain limiter on the master bus. After closely comparing it with the C-Max on a recent project, I'm replacing the P-Lim in the chain with this plugin. This is much more transparent. As long as the "aggression" setting is at 0, I can't hear a difference in the original source until it's pushed to very squashed levels. Not sure what some of the reviewers are hearing in saying it is colored. It isn't.

    Only taking away one star because of the hefty price and the need for better "sticky" metering that holds the max reduction amount.

    nope. garbage.

    i see the other reviews and I don't get it. Is it possible these people have never used any other mastering limiter? This thing is horrible. I usually love UA plugins...how did this thing get released? The most colored, over-compressed mastering limiter I own.

The plug-ins run on the hardware itself, without adding strain to your computer’s CPU. In an Apollo, onboard DSP processing allows you to run realtime UAD plug-ins with near-zero latency, and even record that processing directly to your DAW.

This refers to the number of SHARC DSP processors in Apollo and UAD-2 hardware. A DUO core system has twice the amount of processing power compared to a SOLO core system. More SHARC DSP cores increases the number of UAD-2 plug-ins you can run on the hardware.

Yes, you can start a fully functional 14-day demo from any plug-in bundled with the UAD software. Simply click “Start Demo”, and start using it in your DAW.

UAD-2 licenses follow the hardware, it does not matter which computer they are connected to. You can have up to six UAD-2 devices registered to a system in your Universal Audio account, which share those licenses. See UAD-2 Plug-In Licensing Explained for full details.
