By modeling the dual-stage "Red Knob" preamp, revered three-band EQ, and post-fader output amplifier with obsessive detail, the Neve 1073 Preamp & EQ replicates the experience of the original 1970s hardware with stunning accuracy. Like the hardware, the new Neve 1073 plug-in incorporates all 10 clipping points from the preamp and EQ circuitry, delivering trademark clarity, grit, and harmonically rich class‑A saturation.
Unison Technology for Apollo
Harnessing UA’s Unison technology, the Neve 1073 plug-in blurs the lines between analog and digital, giving you all of the 1073 preamp’s impedance, gain staging “sweet spots,” and circuit behaviors that have made it legendary among the audio faithful. The secret is Unison’s bi-directional control and communication from the 1073 plug-in to the digitally controlled mic preamps in Apollo. With Unison, the Apollo preamp changes to the Neve 1073's physical input impedance, allowing both "Lo" (300 Ω) and "Hi" (1200 Ω) impedance setting options. This provides the 1073's full gain and tonal range to your favorite mics.

All of the UAD Neve plugins are top notch! Just adding this to a track without touching a single dial, adds color and warmth. The presets are great and what I always start with. 9 times out of 10, I don't have to adjust but if I do, the presets get me very close to what I'm wanting to hear.

Totally Unsatisfied
I have owned this plug in since January but when my apollo quad stop working i purchased the apollo solo and the plug is no longer recognized and due to the need to record we repurchased it thinking it would sync and work yet still its not syncing and Universals customer service has done nothing to make sure we get it synced and working. So no we purchased it twice and have received NO support in getting it to be recognized on our Mac Studio. Very bad customer service and in no way would we recommend Universal Audioto anyone who may need customer support.

My favorite UAD plugin... it is Native too. I received an ilok license and I see the 1073 listed in my UAD Native plugin list, and also in my UAD-2 DSP list. UAD needs to update their website to reflect this. Also, KIT Blackbird has nothing on this.

Never finish a full mix without the Neve 1073 Preamp on any of your tracks because you will feel like something is missing…this is one of UAD’s most serious emulations

Good fun, bright
Only had limited use of the original but a fun addition when on sale. Sounds very bright which I don’t recall from the original so I don’t recommend it as a Unison pre. Screw up your sound later and undo it at any point before mixing is key. As ever, bypass is your friend. Clunky interface as far as switching between Line and mic input, I don’t know why it should be any more tricky than the real deal to use but I guess it’s better than dealing with flaky patch cables.
Looks cool but could be more moise friendly. If you want more flavor, get the V76 though watch the input cos it overloads more easily.M. Breu

Gotta love what this does with guitar tracking. Erik the man Rutan from cannibal corpse uses the hardware 1073 for his cab mics. I personally love the saturation this preamp gives.

why only native for UAD Spark?
It is already a native plugin inside UAD Spark but why you are limiting the customers here who wants to buy it separately outside of UAD Spark? I recently bought 24 native plugins and the last plugin I wanted was "Neve 1073 Preamp and EQ". Make it a real and true native plugin by the end of this year's Black Friday Sale or Christmas sale, please request.

Stunning
As a voice over my attention is obviously mainly focused on the voice. I have a Neve 1073 hardware and several microphons that I pair with great satisfaction with different UA plugins. Finding new shades and new colors of the voice is possible with Neve products. This makes my voice more interesting to customers .
