Works like a charm!
Yeah, I couldn't help myself. I saw my Firewire Satellite on a second hand market for $100. Currently running it on my 2012 MiniMac just fine along side my Apollo 8. But get this, it even worked on my newer computer too! Though, it needed a bunch of adapters to make it work (Firewire 400 >Firewire 800>Thunderbolt2>Thunderbolt3). The only issue I ran into (and it took a while to sort this out) the unit had to run from the Firewire 400 output, and not the 800, to make the connection to the Thunderbolts. And registration was a breeze. Super happy camper!

Amazing gear…for obsolete OS
It’s amazing how well it performs with all the plugins load that I use in my projects. Unfortunately for UAD it’s so hard and complicated to develop new FireWire drivers for newer macOS, so if you’re planning buying one just consider use it for macOS Catalina.

Great until I upgraded MacOS
The Satellite has been perfect until I had to upgrade my MacOS to Ventura. Then I lost access to all my UA Plugins. Why? Because UA have withdrawn firewire support from Catalina onwards. The Satellite, which cost 500 UK pounds, is now redundant, and access to my UA plugins no longer possible. Not happy.

CAT - Tinc un Macbook Pro del 2015 que no pot suportar el workflow del Logic Pro. Gràcies a aquesta unitat Satellite he aconseguit dues coses, millorar l’experiència de produir i aconseguir una qualitat en el so que fins ara no tenia.

já tinha uma UAD-QUAD e acabei comprando outra e ligando as duas em serie folgou o meu sistema demasiadamente e me deu possibilidade de pendurar diversos plugins sem ter prblemas com DSP

I want to be able to continue use of my UAD-2 Satellite FireWire with the latest versions of MacOs
I love your plugins however I want to be able to use my UAD-2 Satellite FireWire which is no longer supported by the latest versions of Universal Audio drivers. Surely this is something that can be tweek within the drivers so the life of the UAD-2 Satellite FireWire can continue to be used along side all of my UAD plug-ins that are not yet usable with UA Connect.
