No Thunderbolt cable?
Would give it 5 stars as all UAD gear and plugins are just incredible. However, I can't believe, given the price, that there is no included thunderbolt cable!!!! More expense and waiting time before I can use it. Grrr.

had-2 quad
really happy with my product it really does stand out above all other plugins and saves on processing power leaving me free to utilise my macs performance as required

Great but
I am a bit annoyed that I purchased this whilst the offer of free Studer API vision
and variable Mu with purchase pre April
I did this in late March and didn't get to register until very early Aoril
UA did not honour their deal and no response from customer support
Notwithstanding this disappointment the Octo is a must have once you start using a few CPU hungry plugins
I think they should make an Apollo twin octo

Superb! But budget for a Thunderbolt Cable
I was in the process of saving for a new iMac when I noticed the free plugin promo with the UAD2 Octo-this device meant I could hold on to my Mac Mini and still get more processing power. I decided to reinvest in the UAD Platform after years of abandonment and must say I am delighted I did. Sadly native plugins are a terrible investment due to piracy- at least with UAD your investment is protected and that protection also afford UA the ability to produce easily the best plugins on the market. The hardware itself is very solid and well built- I am using it with Logic Pro X and it is super stable with exceptionally low latency. However I cannot give it 5 stars when UA do not include the Thunderbolt Cable needed to make this work! Otherwise A+

Oh, through in the thunderbolt cable!

Great!
I'm now running an Apollo 8duo tb and a quad satellite tb. Works flawlessly and installation is easy. You really need the extra quad power with the apollo 8 because you run rather quickly out of dsp power of the apollo. The unison plugins take a lot of power. Plugins sound really great. The pre-amps nab converter sound very full but natural. Unison plugins really add to the sound. Very happy with the system.

THUNDER THUNDER THUNDERBOLT HOOOOOOO
As I stated in my Apollo Twin review , I grabbed a Satellite Quad UAD2 to use the heavier plug ins on the mix side and it works just as advertised. Five Sharc Chips is plenty enough DSP for what i'm doing, can't speak for others. I'm running a small home personal recording studio and it does what I need it to do when i need it to do it,lol. UAD plug ins "ARE" the best sounding plug ins in the business , point blank. For those individuals that are on a budget like myself, demo the plug ins and "ONLY" purchase the ones that you will most likely use daily like i did. The only downside is once again, it doesn't come with a thunderbolt cable, C'MON UA.........

Good Gear
To have extra horse power for those thirsty plug-ins. I had hoped the additional DSP would be available while recording, but unfortunately that is not the case. And I aggree with others that a complimentary Thunderbolt cable would be nice and appropriate for a premium prodact and manudacturer.

UAD should include a thunderbolt cable for the price.
I just upgraded from 2 DSP to 10, and I got UAD liberated, my DSP breads. I don't need to calculate in advance what plug-ins I'm going to use. Really easy installation just like my Apollo, the only negative point: no Thunderbolt cable included, at this price you guys could make an effort and put, at least, a 30cm cable with it. 4 stars instead of 5 for it.

Works perfectly with the apollo
I have my Thunderbolt Quad satellite daisy chained with my Apollo Twin. Easy to set up and ive been tracking with ease ever since:)

PAN Law!!!!
Hi! ist all great. But please program a Pan Law for the Mono Button in the Consoleapp. I know you want Analog but This button is not Analog. So you Output starts Clipping if i produce 0DbFs Peak Music. If you don't change it this Button is useless. Sorry. The Rest is wonderfull :-)) Really Good (6 from 5 Stars) Sounding Interface.

Looks Good and Sounds Good
Sounds good, and it looks good. It would be nice if you guys sold a kit that would allow it to be racked.

Works! UAD-2 Quad Satellite TB
I'm using Wavelab as my main editor. UAD-2 plugins seems to work great with my setup. I was surprised that you are able to render offline with UAD-2 plugins and results were ok! (for example not all Waves plugins work perfectly with Wavelab)
While testing I had Roland MobileUA as sound card.

upgrade
Had lot of UAD devices. Nothing bad to say. But seriously, with this kind of product, you guys should really provide a cable!

Love it
Love this little piece of gear. Lots of processing power. Too bad I had to drive out and get a thunderbolt cable myself.
And you would expect to get a decent analog classics bundle, instead of just the legacy versions..

So far, so good!
I've only had it for a few weeks but the setup and installation process was super quick and easy. Glad it has two ports on the back so I can daisy chain it to my interface and hard drive. Excited to try more plugs!

Key addition to my studio
Adds much needed plugin power to my rig with cool plugins and great expansion options. A little concerned about the cpu errors I keep getting when I load one of the UAD plugins, but otherwise I am very happy with this piece of gear.
