Great stuff
UA, great company that makes great gear. I received one of these as one of their Apollo promotions. I was completely blown away that I was eligible for this upgrade of an octo accelerator. This doubled my processing power and enabled me to use more UAD plugins while mixing. Couldn’t be happier. Thanks guys and gals!

The Octo Satellite is a must have if you're a serious producer/mixer!
I bought the Apollo Twin Quad, and it's an awesome product! But... the whole point of using UAD products is to emulate the entire experience of using analog gear, including a recording console. LUNA sort of hints at this in the DAW, but if you're a serious producer/mixer, you won't be using LUNA for recording or mixing, you'll most likely be going with Logic or PT, and maybe using LUNA for mastering/finishing (maybe). That being said, if you're making your own recording/mixing console with UAD's SSL, API, Neve (etc.) channel strips, the Quad runs out of DSP rather quickly (which was a surprise).
So... My rep at Sweetwater convinced me to buy the Octo Satellite, and it f-ing rules! You literally never run out of DSP. I have 50 tracks+ in this one song I'm mixing, and each one has at least one (but, usually more) UAD plugins on it. I'm only at 71% DSP. Plus, the Apollo/Octo shares processing, not just with UAD plugins, but also (I think, don't quote me on this) shares DSP with off-board plugins. Remember those annoying System Overload errors in LPX when you're only using like 5 plugins? Those are a thing of the past thanks to UAD.
Those two things alone alone, makes buying an Apollo + Satellite totally worth it. Apogee can't do that! And, if I ever run out of DSP again, I'll get another satellite, and then I will rule the audio world as a god among men. Go out... Get a Sweetwater store car... buy one. Do it now! SW gives you 48 months free of interest.
Additionally, let's talk freebies:
UAD gives you a bunch of free plugins when you buy an Apollo or Satellite. They won't give you extra freebies for buying both at the same time per se, but they did give me a really heavy discount on the Analog Classic Pro bundle as a thank you, so I bought that... Also totally worth it!

Huge power
If you need more power for using UAD plugins, it’s very valuable tool. Also it’s very effective to reduce load on my cpu. I combined it with Apollo X8. I don’t calculate DSP anymore

I needed more DSP power because with my apollo twin silverface had not enough dsp for my mixes. Great product. I'm cascading with a ssd and works perfectly.

T3 Octo is a great product, even your CPU power survives but there are no plugins to give you to free thus UA need to change their support who love to using Satellite

I am so pleased I chose to invest in my new Satellite Octo, the difference it's made to my DPS load/usage is HUGE! Everything I hoped for and has made a massive difference to how I now approach adding additional processing to my working process. Worth every penny spent.

For my configuration, I coupled an Apollo x8P Apollo Quad 2 Satellites Octo. The power is there and without latency. The daw LUNA is amazing for its sound engine quality, tapes and summing. Thank you the Universal Audio team for the quality of your work!
