UA Fairchild
The Fairchild 660 and 670 operate in a much more realistic and natural way, to my tastes, than other emulations. I really enjoy how they work and the finished results I’m getting. I hope that UA will bring the rest of their catalog as well to native platforms: I’ll happily snap them up.

Now this is how Tape saturation plugins should be made. thinking that the consumer may ( or may not) needs to control the way saturation is applied to every track... Very nice! A lot of flexibility and it sounds AMAZING.

These sound good. Sound great. Warm things up. I have more compressor plugins than is healthy, and these get used a disproportionate amount. Not 5 stars because of some functionality things, like no option to have input and output knobs move simultaneously. But the sound? Can't fault that at all.

I have had this only a short while but think that the benefits added to my tracks are rewarded to a far greater extent than I thought possible. Very nice plugin, very nice results.

1 reason you should get this EQ
Reason NO.1 - Its Simply The Best
Universal Audio, just does some audio magic. Like the Fairchild, before I even knew what this plugin was I fell in love with it (from another company from the Jurassic period). This EQ has always been and will always be my favourite EQ, and UAD have managed to get my expectations, fold it many times and shove it back in my face like "ANother One" (Like Khaled) thus making this the best rediont of this plugin...its Simply The Best (like Tina Turner).

Reason No. 660 - Smooth response at a controlled pace.
Reason NO. 670 - Clibration to fit any instance.
Now I fell in love with this compressor back in the day (not that far back) when I got another companies version of the Fairchild, this made everything sound MASSIVE (T Rex big), but there was a layer of mud I didn't like once I got the hang of mixing. Also, without that added calibration control, I could never get that needle to move ( I thought I needed a doctorate) That being said (like spoken word) this version of that tube compressor from Universal (not the film studio) Audio is actually the best rendition I have used to date.

Now I have had the pleasure of using both the hardware and several plugin adaptations, and I can say without a doubt (minus the hardware) it is THE BEST SOUNDING TAPE PLUGIN I HAVE PURCHASED, There is another which I won't mention, it comes close but not as soft as this, (like the tube ;)) Added on several busses and the master output (with the correct settings) it adds a nice amount of colour (like a rainbow) that just makes everything sound better.

Amazing quality, no bullshit
When you buy a universal audio product you get an assurance that no matter if it's an emulation of an amp or simulation of any popular studio outboard gear, it will be the close second or sometimes even better and Lexicon 224 is no different. I never had a chance to work with this amazing hardware equipment but I have heard this quite a lot, thanks to UA I now have a similar reverb in my studio too.
