Was sceptical, am convinced.
I tend to be critical with things that get lots of universal praise: Often times it's just the hype being passed on. Some folks voice their opinion quickly after a first glance and believe the general talk will be true and this is indeed the grand thing they've been waiting for. I tested the LA-2A thoroughly and I got to say that this is a fantastic sounding plugin. I kind of went the other way round: I played with this plugin first, liked it a lot and and then tried a hardware LA-2A at a studio I'm working in. I couldn't say they sound exactly the same (even the hardware differs slightly from unit to unit), but they sound so great that it doesn't matter how equal they are to something. I love these for the drumbus! FAT FAT FAT.

Great product!
Really helpful plugin, easy to use. I compared last night with the 6176's 1176 unit on a reamped Bass Track and they are really close.
The only thing is the line distortion effect what I have in the hardware but can't make with the software.

Phat and forward
I use one of my Apollo's in a live environment as the "front end" of my bass guitar amp. The Fairchild brought an amazing sound I have been working to achieve that combines a phat sonic signature, transparent compression, and an expansion that helps notes from dying before I want them to. Love it.

Good Fairchild Emulation But...
This plugin is good, but I'm upset that I had just recently purchased what is now referred to as the "legacy version" when this was released. I feel like I should have received a free upgrade to the new one.

Fairchild improvements
This plug now has much more of the sensation I remember from Fairchilds
at AIR London and Abbey Road in the 70s and later at A&M, it seems so much more responsive.
the additional ability to tweek the HPF and the DC makes its superb set on
lo thresh just after an 1176 set to minimal limit.

BEST COMPRESSOR EVER I USE IT ON ALMOST EVERYTHING...Thank YOU U.A.

Best compressors out there
You won't go wrong with these. Absolute fidelity and similarity to the hardware device, to the point that you won't difference each other in a blind test. You can easily get the famous CLA with these plugins easier and more accurately than with other manufacturer's plug-ins.
Totally recommended.

sticky and sweet
the magic glue for everything colors your track a little brighter and tighter lol

Magic!
Great reverb not because it just gives the depth to your mix. It does but in a such sophisticated way by giving to the sound remarkable vintage color.

Amazing sound
These plugins have made the sound of my mixes warmer and much more enjoyable, it's a subtle effect that takes the digital out of any cold electronic production and breathes life into it, i am very happy about these plugins

indispensable
i put it in all drum and synth tracks before all processing - but it works very well also with the bass tracks - great analog deep sound!!!!

Musical Lube
I'd heard an awful lot about this plug in, and had experience using a competitors vintage tape emulation, but holy c$@p, this one sounds just like the real thing, i use this more a s a natural compression...
However it does seem to make strings (samples i.e. Kirk Hunter, vsl etc) sound a bit artificial, takes away too many transients.
Worth purchasing if you want to add warmth to tracks, as individual inserts on each track, or over busses to glue everything together

Top Notch Emulation
This thing is amazing!
Adds warmth, colour and clarity... exceptionally musical.
The side chain and mix functions are a great addition, much like the Pultecs, sometimes you only have to run a signal through it without moving a dial, and it makes everything sound better.

great
much more subtle than the Legacy 670, but probably more true to the original fairchiled.

Golden Bus Compressor!
The new fairchild 670 is perfect for clamping down on the 2 bus. I tried lots of 2 bus compressors plugins, and was never quite happy with the results. Enter the new fairchid 670 mkii plug. The mix knob will allow you to add the aggression you need for your mix, and the side chain is very useful. The added headroom screw allows you to choose how hot the signal will get to the threshold, and will add some grit. Throwing in the angry little brother the 660 is an added bonus which sounds awesome on the drum overheads. This plug is as good as advertised great job UA. No 2 bus is complete without the fairchild 670 and the Ampex ATR-102 another great 2 bus processor. If you have any doubts don't hesitate to demo, but beware you will want it.

Excellent
I liked the original Fairchild plug-in from Bomb Factory,
and was glad to get the first UA version of the Fairchild, but thought it lacked some
of the character of the BF version. With this new addition to the line UA has
really surpassed the original and their own early version. The sound is subtle or aggressive, however you want it. The compression can be invisible or massive.
This exactly what I was looking for. Sounds great on everything you put through it.
