Took a while to convince me but..
It took me a while to be completely convinced it was worth the money. The deal breaker for me was stacking it against the 1176 so that they were both compressing just a little bit. I managed to get consistently good results on vocals and guitars before I decided it was worth the purchase.
All being said it's a compressor of which there are thousands out there, if you like the sound of it and find it relatively easy to use (I imagine you will say yes to both of those), then by all means it's a product for you :)

Great EQ, easy to use,
I used the Pulteq EQ on Bass synth a lot and master
The big difference for me, between the old and the new version is the Pultec Passive collection is more precise, less muddy than the old one. It's great to have an eq that boost the bass frequency without having a muddy low end !!!

A good tool by your side.
I had to say that this Fairchild tube limiter collection is simply a must have.

Welcome back, old friend!
I missed my stack of DBX160s. The Crush - The Crunch - The Speed! This emulation is fantastic. The attack and recovery rate are just as I remembered. Blazing fast like only the DBX160. If you are looking for massive squash and huge thick make-up gain, the 160 is your box. Use it wisely! A+

Lexicon 224
Highly recommended, I have the Lexicon Pcm Reverb bundle but the 224 seems much warmer and fatter than the Lexicon bundle. Can't be beat especially on vocals!

Great sounding eq!! Easy to use!!!! my new go to eq
Talking short about myself i am the typical home studio nerd with no professional experience. So if there is a plug-in that shows up with such a clean gui interface i have to try it.
The Pultec eq plugins sound is really really great and the presets are definitely helping me out the get into the ballpark asap. Just by putting it on the track without doing anything it already changes the sound. Speaking for myself i found that the pultec eq are not meant to be like surgical eq, but help to make the instrument sound better, more defined, helping to highlight the strength of each track you put it on.
Using both the boost and attenuation function gives some really nice and interesting sounding results!! Worth every single penny!!!

1176 wow?! I never expected such greatness!
I was so used to the sound of an LA-2A, I never wanted to try anything else... I AM SO GLAD I DID! The 1176's are awesome, the biggest surprise was on my lead vocal, I would have never thought anything could touch an LA-2A on the human voice, but boy was I wrong. These are as sweeeeeeeeeet as they come... great job UAD!

Insane plugin... LA-2a's to the max!
I love these so much and I use them on just about everything... mostly lightly, but on the bass the Silver is great on Vocals and acoustic guitars the gray is stellar. Any one of these is great, I own the Legacy, but there is no comparison, these sound 65% better in my opinion due to the transformer algorithm... etc

Teletronix® LA-2A Classic Leveler Collection
I like to consider myself an audiophile. A true sound purist if you will. I admit that I was one of those people that looked at digital audio as a lifeless copy of the Analog world. Through the years, I have changed with the times. A simple must to stay relevant. With that said, it takes a lot for me to get the worm and fuzzy in the digital world. Several companies have had there go, at emulating the legends of the LA 2A family. Until now, a solid atempt is all I would call it. The Teletronix® LA-2A Classic Leveler Collection is in fact, the best I have herd. Soft, smooth, tonal realism in every aspect just like the real deal (Hardware) A must have and then some. Thanks UA

A giant, very good, makes the sound fuller, with more presence, use at all.

Simply Beautiful.
Hands down the best Pultec emulation out there. Really does improve the sound just by passing the signal through. The EQ is silky smooth, just like the original units. Thanks UA!

Perfection
A MUST HAVE!!! If you are serious about your music no matter the instrument this thing is magical and musical!! I've used the hardware in many studios all over the world, the characteristics are identical.. I often do mixes on the go from my Laptop and this is on everything. Many are shocked when I tell them I did it all using my Satellite and LA!!!

Fairchild is excellent
Fairchild is excellent, but, as soon as I bought the price dropped to 149 it's unfair I wanted to buy Precision Mastering bundle but it is now expensive...:)

1176 is the truth!
Amazing sounding units! No compressors can compare.

You need third party peripherals to use this
First off, I didn't put much audio though this unit because of the lack of required peripherals needed to make this work. After much research, I've found the perfect piece to compliment the UAD LA-3A audio leveler plugin. The E-MART 2.5X 90mm / 5X 22mm Clip-on Clip on LED Light Lighted Tabletop Desktop Table-Top Desk Lamp Reading Magnifier Magnifying Loupe Glass. You can get it on Amazon.com now for about 30 bucks. The great thing about this magnifying glass is that it can easily clap to your table and you can swing it in front of your monitor with ease. It is perfect for making things look bigger, and thus makes a great add on to the LA-3A, allowing users to actually see the controls of the LA-3A on a modern day computer monitor.

Unexpected Mojo
I forgot I could still demo these, and when I did...well, out came the credit card. I'm running everything I can through these plugs. The way they just bring stale sounds alive is...unlike anything I've ever heard, I don't even touch the compression. Defined stereo imaging, warm, thick character...brilliant. Mind you, like most the new UA stuff, these bad boys are DSP hogs, so you'll be rendering to audio a bit, but good god are they worth it. The "regular" LA2A's ability to add some serious snap to a kick also deserves mention, while the silver I tend to drive sounds into to smash transients and add a little bit of grist. The "Grey" is a bit more of a refined sound to my ear, good for vocals and such!
