Clean and Nervous
I bought DBX160 a few months ago. I can say it won't go for all but it does it real great when it's in the ballpark !
I 've started using it with kick drum, for sure. It's fast and punchy. I've used it too, the way Andrew Scheps does : as a common parallel compressor for kick and snare. This sounds great !
Used with some vocals, or guitars, you will like or not, depending on results you're looking for. DBX160 is versatile but it has his own and strong character. Easy to use and tweak I can say immediately if I keep it or sack it from the track. This is a real good comp to go.

Subtle but really efficient
This studio D Chorus (or Dim' D Rolland, no matter how it's branded...) sounds real great. Don't take it for extreme wide panning guitar doubler or helter-skerter chorus feel, you would be disappointed with it. But if you look for some discrete and efficient tool, you're at the right place. It displays subtle FX which helps to sit a track in a mix and give it some shine and a real place without overflow.
I like to use it on a mono track, with keyboards for instance, when i don't want to use a stereo track. It brings life and a real feeling of space though it remains mono.
Last but not least, I think audio demos really don't highlight its qualities because settings and and choices of uses are too outrageous. Don't stop there and give a try in demo mode for a few days.

Adds warmth to any track
I put this plugin on almost every track. It gives heft and punch to kicks, brings Organs to life, and is a must use on any synth track, analog or digital. Love it and only cost me $19 after some vouchers.

Studdddderrrriffic
The Studer was one of my first purchases and downloads to try out as I wanted to see what all this hype was about. Well, this plugin goes on my kick & snare on every track I make after the Neve 88RS channel. This unit is so tight. Even right from default, it just mats my drums a certain way to flatten some extra digital freqs and gives it a more rounded old vibe. I love to use the EQ to re-raise the hights back in after turning it on, put to 7.5 or 15 depending on the track and VOILA!!! Magic. If you are reading this, also, go try Oxide and put it on your bass and synths !!!!! Even kick n snares. Its a different vibe but also a great one. More punchy and thick. Great contract to Studer so if you are a DJ, you have different sounds in your tracks which helps break up the similar mix types you do.

The go-to units for vocals...
LA-2 is always in my recording chain. I also use LA-2A on guitars and bass a lot.

Pultec EQ
Quite possibly the best EQ plug-in for vocals I ever used! Smooth and natural!

Really good secret weapon for that analog touch.

Solves my chorus issues when I need to use chorus , and fast!!!
I normally print to digital using the effect pedals I want but when I don't I find myself endlessly trying out various plugins that come with my daw or others, then endlessly tweaking.
This one was easy as I can still hear it once the mix is up and there are so few parameters it takes almost no time to adjust.
Chorus is a difficult pedal as it deals with phasing so the instrument can disappear once in place.
Not so with this one.

perfect
is perfect for all sources. and very simply to use it

dsp and track count vs other tape recorders
In testing this has served really well to provide capabilities for use across multiple tracks with less dsp load. That surely makes it worth it.

Nice to have the Roland Algorithms back
Sound the same as the RE.201 but it`s nice to have this wonderful Delay in the box

1176 Legacy
I have only Legacy version but it is very good and I use it a lot on the tracks. The processor consumption is small so I can use it on my Apollo Twin

Brilliant
Easy to use with a warm and sweet sound and the possibility to drive it a little - What's not to like

Great
Parallel rev a on vox, slam it and that's close to done. Spitty in your face compression when you want and ..... blah blah blah we all like the 1176, this one is great.

Might sell my original Urei 1176!
Those sound so good and close to their originals, I find myself reaching out for them instead of my Urei Rev. D when I'm recording. Couldn't be more happier!

All in one!
if you have this one you probably do not need any other reverb or delay... its so real so good for all applications.
sounds a bit vintage , but thats the thing i like most in it!
and the distortion that it has when you tweak it up it's very useful and sounds great too!
one of my go to plugins

The best Apollo Twin friend for tape emulator.
First of all, I have the all the UA tape emulations and I use them on my daily basis. Oxide gives me the tape sound that I need when I'm using on travel/hotel/home my Apollo Twin Duo, it´s DSP friendly and do not compromise the sound quality or resourses. Great sound and a real good deal for tape emulation, sometimes could replace Studer in some cases.
