Power and thicker sound UA 175B & 176
This compressor surprised me how much it made the acoustic guitar sound nicer and fatter. The drum has gained more power and is more pumped as well as the bass. The vocals are also closer and clearer with the compressor. I would recommend this compressor to everyone to have a richer sound and another sound colorization in their arsenal.

Great sound
New to UAD, but I’m happy to have invested in this software. Still getting around to using the studer effectively, but the color and vibe it brings to the two bus is amazing!

I ALREADY OWNED THIS ITS CRAP

A true classics collection
The 1176 collection to me is an instant classic and can be seen as essential. I love the fact that you have 3 colors to choose from and pick the one that best suits the specific situation. Really a great collection.

THESE GUYS ARE HORRIBLE

UA 1176 Collection
I have never used UAD plugins until now. Honestly learning how to properly use these plugins have helped me hear the difference between my stock plugins and other 3rd party plugins. I can just put these plugins on a source and may be close to what i am looking to achieve without doing anything. I a/b my stock plugins dialing in same gain reduction/output and in some cases there has been a 6 to 10 db difference. Stock plugins seem to work harder to get the job done and I probably would not have noticed the difference if I had not upgraded to these plugins. UAD has set the bar for me. Thanks

Faithful recreation of the one and only!
I was amazed to hear Abbey Road in the presets. Not kind of, or sort of, but right there. I love it based on that alone. I own one synth, but also have purchased many soft synths I don't use or like. I like this more than them. I don't know why. It feels organic. It is old, but feels so fresh.

Really like this piano. It’s not my main instrument but it’s definitely the best piano plugin I’ve tried . I would recommend !!

Real as the real thing
I have worked with many tape emulations from different manufacturers and was happy...
Now, I have this emulation of the A800, it's like I've been playing with toys and this really does the job. It's not that you're never 100% sure of the effect the tool produces on the sound, with a trade-off between texture/warmth and sharpness, no. You can clearly hear how the texture improves, without smearing or making things more dirty, it's magical.
This simply makes rivals obsolete.

Use it for Voice Over!
By far the best compressor/limiter for Voice Over and Audio Book Production! Smooths out those digital nasties in this type of audio work. Adds a soft fidelity to spoken word, as a trick, use it with no compression, just going through the circuits and tubes, adds an beautiful ambient halo of sorts.......

Unworkable unit with Zero support from Universal!!
I purchased this Chorus. And yet I am unable to use it as it won’t work!! It shows up in my plugins as purchase but won’t work. Now that’s bad enough, but just try to get in touch with a live human being for help. You won’t get help rather they will refer you to multiple articles for you to read to try to figure the problem out yourself. Think of it suppose you bought a car that wouldn’t run and Unbelievable inadequate and poor Customer Service!!!!

Great sound, beware fatal flaws:
The synth sounds great and is highly intuitive. I wish it had a HPF but otherwise it's great. Two major flaws, particularly for live use:
1. You have to license this via a physical iLok or have an internet connection. Ridiculous! It will not work otherwise, rendering it too risky if not completely useless for live applications. Please please UA, allow it to be licensed to the physical computer like just about every other plugin I use with iLok manager.
2. MIDI CCs are hard-coded into the plugin, so if you build a sound you're proud of, don't wiggle any knobs on any gear you have plugged in, because it can easily be ruined. Again, the risk here for live is insane. I had to use a Max4Live plugin to block all CCs to avoid ruining my sounds on the gig. Now I have to go rebuild them in a different VST having learned this...
So sadly it's just not all that useful unless you're super careful to print your sounds or turn off monitoring on the track.
