Amazing tape emulation
This one really smooths out a track and brings in that analog glue that is missing with digital recordings. I agree with other comments about the DSP hog. I have a Satellite Quad instead of the Octo. I'd love to cascade several to allow for more plug-ins.

Excellent for ambient and acoustic recording
I do mostly live in studio recoding with a lot of ambient sound and bleed. This is the best EQ I have found for usable coloration of off axis response. Of course the direct sound is wonderfully treated by this plug-in as well. I was not sure I was going to do this upgrade as the legacy is very good, but I'm very glad that I did.

Legacy is a different animal
Well I waited for a while, but eventually I tried (and bought) the "actual" 1176. Like many I had the Legacy and I have to say that you can not compare them in any way. The "new" 1176 is awesome. I use it with vocals to soften the peaks and that's basically it... but in doing that its just all I need. There is nothing I miss... so its perfect:-) what else does it need to be?

Standard reborn
This is definitely going to be my go-to bus and channel reverbs that I'm going to use in my productions. The tail of the reverb is so lovely, that you just want to hit a note on keyboard and listen to its sparkle. Just amazing! Can't wait for more reverbs to come out!

Pretty nice
No way to benchmark this against the OG, but it sounds pretty nice. I invested in the Neve 88RS and 33609, so now this doesn't get used as much. Good idea to scoop this in the Legacy Collection Upgrade Bundle if you can wait it out. 4/5 from me.

1176 Classic Limiter Collection YES!
If you are like me you got the 1176 Legacy Collection when you bought your UAD Hardware. So, why do I need the new (to me) 1176 Classic Limiter Collection? Because it is WAY better sounding. Ok, I got a little technical there but seriously these emulations are extremely great.
The detail and depth of the 1176 AE at 2:1 for vocals is incredible. I want to insert it on every vocal I have recorded for the past 10 years. It just makes vocals sound deep and smoothe.
The "Blue Stripe" and the Rev E are what I grew up on and they sound exactly right.
I have always loved the Legacy versions but the new collection is So much better. No kidding.

A true classic
I loved the Legacy version - and I still use it when I'm mixing and running low on DSP - but the Pultec Passive EQ Collection is on another level. Low end warmth, punchy mids, or shimerring highs; this collection can do it all. Hell, half the time I just put it on my signal chain or my stereo bus and don't touch a single thing! If you run a full mix through this eq (with no adjustments whatsoever), you can still hear the Pultec working its magic. The best, most authentic Pultec emulation, hands down.

Loved the magic!
Great sounding plugin, have never used the real thing, but this adds a nice vibe to the source!

A great go-to!
I love that it preserves all the hardware versions character even when I close my eyes!

Oldies but they are Golden!
Sounds and feels like the hardware. Always a dependable companion.

It definitely does its job!
It adds that tape sound so many of us miss!

I wish I had bought it sooner
The blue stripe is killin' the AE has 2:1 ratio, great for bus compression. The rev E sounds and feels like the real deal. I track a lot with 1176's and sometimes after using one all day I want the one I put on in the box to not just sound the same, but feel the same, and these do both. I love em.

Simple, easy, Light on DSP and sounds great.
I said to my self "do I really need another tape plugin"? Well as a Slate user for a long time I demo'd Oxide Tape against VTM and it is a completely different animal, and for me that is a great thing. On duller tracks Oxide tape brings out the top and bottom nicely where VTM does the exact opposite. With a Voucher it cost me 99$, I'm super happy with it!.

Well Worth It.
I own other tape emulators by other companies, but nothing I use. This one actually sounds real, and instantly improves the sound of whatever track it I put it on. I especially like the presets with the specific VU recommendations.

Warmth for Days!
The Legacy version of the Fairchild is a great plugin, but the MKII version is an entirely different level of quality. This is a staple on my master buss, but is also incredibly useful on any stereo buss track....Drums, overheads, horn section, etc. Its great to use for coloration, even with no gain reduction dialed. The side chain makes it even more versatile. And when the real thing costs >$20k, this plugin collection is a no-brainer.
