gorgeous
Stunning, unobtrusive, adds instant width and depth to sources without loading up on low-mids. One of the best reverbs ITB ever created, this became a no-brainer as soon as it went native.

another classic
For the triumvirate of modeling plugins, this one is a swiss army blade of compression. Doesn't really work on mixbus or too complex busses, but can be the ticket on rear buss techniques. For spiky instruments that need a bit of distortion with the compression, it's up there with the best of the best.

Classic for a reason
The UAD Fairchild is a classic in its own right, not just the hardware is one. Whether for vocals, drums (where it to me has an edge over most models, with transient rich content) or entire mixes, this plugin is worth listening to and A/Bing against the best. It won't win every shootout, but it does frequently enough to justify the price tag for me. Going for it is also the smallish footprint.

Crown of my Mix Edition Bundle
I thought the Fairchild 670 and 660 came with my UAD Mix Edition bundle so I read everything I could to decide where in the chain to place it. It didn't, so I bought it. The 1176LN/LA-2A Gray seemed to be a common choice in either order. Order was a study of its own. Long story short... Studder 800 tape, FabFilter Pro Q3, 1176LN/LA-2A, BBE suite (M3/HM/SM/LM) then the Fairchild 660 to polish the chain before the master track, with the Fairchild 670 and API 2500 waiting.
I'm still working on the Vocal and Guitar tracks and have the Pure Plate Reverb, Lexicon 224 and Studio D Chorus individually paralleled across the BBE Suite using a Blue Cat's PatchWork effects rack. The Fairchild 660 provides a VU Meter at the end of the track chain. It helps to EQ before the 1176LN/LA-2A so dominant bass doesn't crush the mid/treble. I tried the LA-2A/1176LN but liked the 1176 first and backed both off a bit when the signal chain reached the Fairchild 660. If you're new like me, you must tune the chain as an aggregate, so don't stall out on each link. Just get it close and move to the next. plug-in
This setup rocks big time and I can't abuse it. I tried.

Great Product
I have never used the real thing, but this plugin definitely sounds more expensive than its price tag. If you’re worried about it not sounding identical to the real thing (who’s to say it doesn’t?), then just pretend it’s called something else and BAM you have an amazing new, high-quality compressor/saturator! You can find a place for this thing pretty much anywhere. 10/10 would recommend.

My go-to compressors!
I have never used a compressor that much! It instantly gives me the feeling of „sounds right!“ no matter what i use it on. It’s super good on vocals but i enjoy compressing drums with it as well because it’s gain adds a very pleasant saturation. The character and smoothness really make a difference. Super easy to use and highly recommended!

Great organ except...
I actually love this organ and use it extensively. The biggest con for me is that It DOESN'T come with an iLok COMPUTER AUTHORIZTION. I have been on gigs and there's no internet or it goes out and there goes the organ...on the gig. My iLok is usually in my studio working on sessions. I ALWAYS HAVE TO have other plug-in organs in my performance laptop rig as backup. None of them require this silliness. Other than that huge thing, it's a great organ.

Best Pultec EQ of all times
The sound of the EQ is delicate and smooth, and wouldn’t become rough even if you make a drastic change in sound with it. Truly amazing.

Cream!
When I think of mixing I have a picture of a vintage console and a tape machine, not that you need either, it’s just that the best records (when recorded well) didn’t go without passing through these circuits. I was in need of something to balance my record, and needed what ever I used not to remove what sizzled in my ears. This tape machine brought music to my master. I guess you can say am now a believer of old school technics. Try it, it’s magic.

Best option for Vocals
Even if the vocals don't need compression at all, I will put it on the chain to add the rich color that the LA-3A gives.

Try it.
If your mix sounds unbalance, just try it un the buss, it will make it sound more balance and together.
