All The Color You Need
This thing can sound good on just about anything with the time constant controls. It adds its warmth and color even if you're just touching the gain reduction. Consequently, its great even for the less aggressive program material. I personally love using it on a drum bus or bass to beef it up a bit. Very versatile compressor with an excellent tone.

Go-To for Vocals
These plugins are my go-to vocal smoothing tools. They can be driven quite hard without any artifacts, just like the hardware units, and they add that little bit of warmth/saturation that grabs a bit of attention and makes the vocal stand out in the mix. Very true to the original hardware and simple to set and use. Sounds great when trying to smooth over a source.

Ridiculously Good Model
These plugins actually capture the excitement and grit of the original hardware unit. The Rev E sounds amazing on drums and vocals. Blows other models out of the water in tone. I've worked with the hardware models, and these are the only plugin models that actually get the tone of the feedback circuit coupling with the attack and release correct. Others are too clean and have to be driven too hard to get anywhere close to the original hardware. Universal Audio nailed it.

Youth and beauty
Ever since my first 'real' studio adventure, in a time far away, in a place called Paradise, I have yearned to hold a lexicon remote control in my hand. That strange white box, reminiscent of an off white storm trooper, boasting an 80's aesthetic that is truly unmistakable and tied to a hidden machine by a rats tail cable that promises a feeling of electricity, has always been an enigma and a holy grail of cavernous and beautiful sound. It can be both delicate and heavy handed, crunchy and sparkling and really can be the go to reverb for any application given the right usage. I'm but a performer and as such could not really hope to own the real thing, but, this software brings me oh so close. Any shortcomings pale in the face of its beauty!

dbx 160 compressor
Sounds like the real thing to me. Simple as that. Simple, quick, easy to use and powerful. I don't use it as much as I used to, but it's great. Period.

A very nice emulation
A very nice emulation that does exactly what it says.

Oxide!!!!
I love this plugin! It really glues my mix together and removes some harshness even. I have used the Kramer tape version and it doesn't compare to my ears. Good job UAD !!!

Fantastically Amazing
When I use another 1176 plugin the quality of this emulation is just perfect!

Best 1176 Emulation out there!
Tested these extensively against other emulations of this classic compressor and UAD blows the rest away. I've never been fortunate to own the hardware model so can't say if it matches to the real thing but I can say it sounds absolutely mind blowing! My only criticism is that it it's quite DSP hungry.

Studer A800
Beautiful beautiful seamless sound. Very very happy I made the choice to use UAD products in conjunction with my Apollo. Far far superior to ANYTHING by waves. Awesome:)

MIX MAGIC!
I don't know how I mixed without this collection. Beautiful side chain options!

not my go-to, but still handy to have in the toolbox
i use this plug on more subtle instruments & voc. i would reach for the LA-2 or the 1176 most of the time, before i use the Fairchild, but still has it's place.

Great Sound!
These plugins open up a superb amount of colour possibilities. They sound really organic and real.
Highly recommend.

Good On Guitar Busses
Got this for smoothing and evening out L/R balances of guitars on stereo busses. Does that perfectly. I preferred it to the Waves version which I found to be a little grungier.
Also useful on the occasional vocal.

Fairchild Collection: So far so good!!!
This comp sounds great, but I admit it's not one of those units you master in a day. Need to really spend some time with time constants. That switch makes a huge difference in what the comp is doing.

Adds something to my low end that I like
I will certainly use this plugin regularly as the saturation type sound it adds to my low end particularly, is pleasing.

Great Fun!
I've only had the LA-3A for a short time, but it's so much fun. I tend to work in a fairly unsubtle fashion, and it's perfect for me, often with both knobs turned all the way up (I got that tip from watching one of the UA videos about the LA-3A). I find it's wonderful for lead guitar--especially one without much fuzz; it makes it really pop out. It doesn't work for everything I've tried it on, but it's great at helping a sound shove it's way through a noisy scenario. I resisted buying it for a long time, because it seemed so simple, but it's got something very interesting going on, especially when I push it pretty hard.

La-3a and guitars!!
Great plugin version of a classic. My go to for guitars and occasionally it ends up on a vocal..
Gotta say I'm looking forward to a MkII and a bigger GUI!
