Incredible Comp!
I own the LA-2A collection, and if you look online there are thousands of people who swear by the LA-2A for vocals and bass etc., but what I didn't know is how great the 1176 sounds on vocals, just stellar. That was something I did not expect and when you chain it to an LA-2A you even get more possibilities. I love this piece of gear and I will use it on everything and often. Thanks, UAD!

Incredible!
The Studer A-800 by UAD is one of my favourites.
I practically use it on everything.
This is a must buy!

Improvement !
FAR FAR better than your earlier Legacy versions...and THOSE were actually pretty good. Well done, as usual, UAD !

Beast!
Love this plug! Great on drums! I cant decide if i like it on vocals tho. I feel it makes the vocals REALLY aggressive. Still ABing with 2A :/

Great compressors
This is all the 1176 flavor you will ever need in the box. Love the A on Vocals, the F on bass and guitars, and the AE on kick with the SLO mode engaged.
super cool colors, and the multi button modes are great to be able to play around with (not just all in :) )

THE LA 2A Collection
I used to own a UAD Preamp (LA610MKII) and i loved the T4 Opto Kompressor (La2A Kindish) on vocals and Bass and so on....
i sold it, because this collection gave me 3 different opportunitys to work with and since i use the Apollo i also got the 610B Unision Preamp for free...sounds even better !
I am using the silver La2A for Vocal Recording to get a rid of the higher Peaks (while in Limit Mode) and after that i put my UAD Pultec EQ with some small processing steps.
I Use the grey LA2A Emulation on my Apollo Interface to Limit (KiLL) high peaks after coming back into the DAW...that works so fantastic...even though its not very fast in attack. it just gives me more level with very very nice sound....

vocal magic
I love the hardware LA-2A on vocals - to me it's the difference between "sounds compressed" and "sounds like a record!". When I first got into UAD I was somewhat disappointed with the LA-2A Legacy, it seemed like even when you pushed it, it was not very responsive, and I would often be adding 40-60 of makeup gain to get the character I was looking for. I could never find a "sweet spot" the way I could with hardware so I would just throw it on a vocal until I could print the real thing.
With this new version, the controls are very responsive, and I'm able to get a lot more range out of it. I'm so much happier. If you do a lot of vocals, you need this version.

extremely addictive
already loved the Legacy, but this version is so smooth and subtle, definitely a worthwhile upgrade. Magic on kick, vocals, you name it. I never used to boost the highs but now I do with this plug!
surprise application - I just used it on a fuzz bass that sounded kind of gnarly. The pedal sounded great but robbed a lot of the low end. The Pultec restored the lows, sculpted the mids to make it sit in the mix better, and shaped the highs to give it some fizz without fighting the guitars.
the extreme amounts of boost available also make it a great combo with the 1176 collection! turn the boost up to 7 or 8, and then use the 1176 to flatten it back down into the mix!

major leap forward
I'm a huge fan of the 1176, but I was kind of disappointed with how the legacy one responded, so I upgraded to this collection. IMO it's a must-upgrade. So much more responsive, and useful in all the places you'd use the hardware. When you push it hard it responds much more like the real thing.
I'm really in love with the AE version for its 2:1 ratio, it allows for much more subtle compression when you want the 1176 more for its tone-shaping than for limiting. Great for bus compressing guitars and keys!
Home run!
C. Powell,
Lives up to the legend!
Simply put, this plug-in gets the job done like few others do. My drums have gotten a much needed lift. Punch, snap, power, girth, clarity is all achievable with the dbx 160. get it now cause I'm mad I took this long!

1176 Bundle
Wow, these things sound and feel like the real thing! Definitely a must have for in the box mixing!

Best sounding LA2A out there
If you know what an LA2A sounds like, then you will enjoy using these. Each of the 3 versions are useful in their own way, and it doesn't take long to get used to what each one sounds like and chose the one that works best for your application.
Why 4 instead of 5: DSP use is high. I consult a company that makes plugins, and have done beta testing with SSL and Slate Digital, so although I am not an expert, I am familiar with the process of designing and making a plugin. Also, it shouldn't be hard to switch between the 3 versions within the plugin instead of having to reload each one. A-Bing means loading 3 instances (one of each) and bypassing. Not end of the world, but could be more efficient.

Great on drums and vocals
I much prefer the sound of this to the legacy version, I use it for almost all of my drum busses and sometimes creatively with vocals and synths. It's got a great character and really thickens things up.. Keep your finger on the mix dial in the bottom right to get the best sound.
Even with light compression it adds a lot of depth to the sound. Great work UA!

I put almost everything through the 1176 compressor
For a long while I assumed the 1176 legacy was "good enough"; I didn't even demo these versions. As soon as I did I used the current custom bundle sale to buy them and I simply haven't looked back.
This was one of the smartest buying decisions I've made with plugin software, it sits on almost every track; vocals, bass, drums, etc.
I simply can't say enough good things about this!

Luscious sound
For really long luscious sounding tails you can't go wrong with this; it really is the best plug in I've found for a truly long reverb.
I've drowned vocals and guitars in this baby and the result is just so pleasing that I often find I have to remember I'm not a prog rock producer and dial it down a little. It sits in the mix with relatively little processing, exactly what I've come to want from ITB reverb.
It's now my goto reverb.

Colorful and Dirty
We all know that this is a classic.
Compared to other version of the 1176 this really does capture it properly. it drives in the right areas and using different versions within the collection can really change the character of the sound.
it is a go to compressor whether it be hardware of a plugin.
i love it on vocals and it is great for fold back in headphones.

Multi-tasker
In using this plugin for a while now it has become a go to dynamic processor of choice.
It has great characteristic and it's own sound, this is especially important as it colors sound and has lots of functionality such as the HR control, side chain and the mix control.
Worth the money spent and i use it on everything from vocals to drums.
