Classic!
Really glues things together. And the 660 is fantastic on an elec guitar buss.

not just for vox
I purchased this plugin exclusively for my guitar pedals. I have tried several different ways to use my guitars effect pedals going into my UAD Arrow, but nothing sounded right. The Manley Tube Preamp has brought out what the effect pedals are supposed to sound like.( sounds live through a amp) The rich tube sound without all the frills, was the answer I had been looking for. The guitar effect pedals now have both volume and a fullness they were lacking . Seems simple, yet very effective :)

Got it back
I sold my Avalon 737 when I purchased my Focusrite ISA828 which I really love. But I never got the same vocal richness that the Avalon delivers. Well I am here to say after 8 years without it…I got that sound back in the UAD Unison Avalon plug-in. Just like I remember. I am so pleased!! Great job UAD!!!

The perfect tape for your channel
This is the best tape you can use on every channel of your mixer to add analogue tape warm and character.
I use the Studer on my orchestral stems (Strings, Woodwinds, Brass) to glue all of them together.
A must have

Sounds great with my SM7B
I’m a ManleyVoxBox owner as well, what I like about the Manley preamp is the minimalist feel and simplicity. I use it to obtain a lot of clean gain that’s needed for my SM7B. I usually use it as a channel input and not unison.

Faithful to the Original
Remember using the hardware Roland version in the late 80s & being blown away with the universes it can take you to. This thing is a great emulation and very faithful to the original. UAD knocked this out of the park.

Solid
Solid emulation. Absolutely gorgeous tone and very effective tool to have around.

Nasty!!
Awesome comps, the most colorful of my arsenal, lot of grit and character!
I’m not giving 5 stars only because the small GUIs, the graphics are nice but so tiny. Please make this one bigger or resizable!

The Swiss Knife of Compressors
This is probably my most used compressors at the time. Perfect to: add character and punch on drums; soften and warming synth; create biting basses; using in a parallel bus to add life at whatever you want.
I love it

Can't decide? Do it.
If you're like me, wondering what another preamp would do differently and do you need 10 of them, you just might! I'm nowhere near a plugin hoarder. In fact, I only got very few, and most of them are Unison preamps. Thing is, that's how we get the best out of our Apollos. You get considerably better tone going in, making mixing way easier later on. Avalon in particular adds this modern bite and clarity to your recording. It is NOT sterile but it sounds full and clean. Think Ed Sheeran. Oh yes, he uses Avalon too. It has all the bells and whistles in lots of highly usable features. Not to mention an amazing EQ section built right in! You can basically skip half of the chain just by using this preamp. Works wonders on vocals for music, podcasts, voiceovers, you name it. Also very usable as a bass pre. Loving it for modern sounds.

You just feel it.
Bit demoing and moments later, Studer was sitting pretty in my cart and never left. Was also considering the Ampex but Studer has way lower DSP footprint in comparison, making it perfect for even live tracking just about anything. Sound wise, it adds weight! It is subtle and it is magical. 1-to-1, Oxide felt thin and had the same sound throughout whereas Studer just gently fattened up every source, making it fuller without muddiness. And it gets more fun the more you drive this thing. Works as a simulation or as an effect, you choose. Ah and did I mention that it looks super cool in Luna tape slot. Amazing plug!

This thing rules
Extremely close to the analog gear. Hard to tell it isn’t.

Outstanding!
Best unison option available right now for me. I use it on voice over, and it pairs really well with the Distressor and a pultec.

wow!
Brought my vocals fight to the front!

Got this with a coupon
Now that I have it, I think I'd pay full price if I had to. Thank god I dont. This thing is awesome though

Alright!
Heard so much about this plugin and glad I am able to pick it up and check out myself. Gets the job done well.

Still learning, but wow!
I've mostly worked with 1176 style compressors but have always heard about the popularity of the Distressor. I bought it on sale with a coupon for an irresistible price. I love the fat and juicy sound of it on the drum bus, it creates a perceivable WEIGHT to any track. All the ratios sound great (loving the opto and nuke) and the attack/release knob can be used to really open up the transients. Easy parallel compression knob to balance which is very useful. My favourite feature is the distortion 2 & 3, helps to add some tape-like character and grit without having to load another plugin. I'm looking forward to using the distressor on bass, vocals, and everything else soon!
