LA-2A Collection
Just loved the new LA-2A Collection. Lots of different flavours of the Classic LA-2A. Used the old one in every mix and now even the old mixes sound better!

Upgrade
Definitely worth the upgrade from the original and having 3 models to choose from is an added bonus.

The dbx 160 Compressor/Limiter is a fully licensed and faithful emulation of the legendary dbx 160 hardware compressor/limiter — still widely considered the best VCA compressor ever made. “VU” is the common nickname for this highly regarded studio staple, famous for its simple control set and firm, distinct compression characteristics. The dbx 160 also has unique nonlinearities not found in other VCA compressors, giving it a sonic distinction from later models. The dbx-endorsed UAD Powered Plug-In version of the VCA VU captures all of the sonic nuances from our “golden” modeling unit, plus the simple control set of the original hardware.

new fairchild collection is sweet
i really like the sound and character of this plug-in.the side chain and mix knob are great features.i own a hardware manley vari-mu, and this plug has depth and smoothness that is hard to find in a plug-in. the side chain for me is something that is going to get a lot of use.highly recommend it. 660 is great also it has vibe like the 670

Base of any recording
For me 1176 is one of basic keys for making any good recording. But, when you have a collection of them... there is no fear for any sound... 1176 bring it to exactly the right place..

does not work
in updating the 7.4 software the old version of Fairchild does not work and the SSL G locks up the Nuendo. i had to go back to the previous version of the UAD software to get my old mixes to work. very disappointed.

Simply wonderful
enhances all of my material. This pultec unlike others, does not suck away the stereo image of your material or add mysterious mids. The punchiness and clarity of the track are well preserved. Highly recommended.

Was not going to get this version!
But after demo'ing it its on all my vocal tracks. I found the harmonics on some of the singers that I was mixing would really come through with the updated versions. I use the "Silver" for more modern tracks and the "Grey" for some vintage vibe tracks.

I don't care if it is a perfect emulation
I don't care if it is a perfect emulation of the originals… it t sounds nice, even better when you realise it is a plugin. Loved it most on vocals and bass!

Teletronix® LA-2A Classic Leveler Collection
For a long time people enjoy reading opinions UAD- 2 DSP card. Decided to buy and immediately the question arose what plugins are required to work? La2 emulation implemented in plugins from different manufacturers that are in my collection. Accordingly, immediately after the purchase I prinalsya compare .
Leveler program which includes Digital Performer 8 when compared does not memorize settings when loading project shows other settings. I could not use it at work. get every time expose settings?
The second plug- Pod Farm Compressor from Line 6 which I have compared with UAD La2a Collection. Recorded the bass guitar while listening to the DP cleared following picture . Compressor Pad Farm ate upper- overtone . There was no such indication intelligibility and

Five star compressor.
Vocals, bass, guitars, snare. I am very happy with this. If you want to smash something you need to search very good to find something like this.

Almoust analog
My first compressor back in the late 70's was a pair of dbx 160 half rack. Ever since that day I've been particulary fond of that type of levelling. Another favorite was the Tube Tech CL 1B that brought power to the snare on my productions in the 90's. I Always longed for a LA2, but never got the chance to buy one. I have tryed a lot of software compressors but never really felt the same vibe as from my hardware dbx and Tube Tech. But now when I have the Teletronix LA-2A Classic it's finally happening.
The same feeling as in the analog hardware. I'm so glad I got them, and with my Quad and solo card, I can use tons of them.

Excellent EQ - Smooth and Powerful!
I demo'd this eq twice over the last year and always loved what it sounded like, held off on the purchase unable to justify the cost. Well, thank you UA for your Holiday Sale again this year, now I own it.
Having opportunity to use it on my Final Mixes on the last few mixes and really get the change to explore its capabilities on known material. This EQ is worth evey penny and more. Nothing in my tool box sounds anything like it, this Eq has a place in every studio for a good reason.
Boosting the Top on my mixes with smooth sweet and clean sounding frequency is now possible. The Hardware must be a dream.
Love it.
Oh - Don't demo it unless you have the money to buy it, because once you do you'll have to buy it.

That bass definition...
That bass definition was what got me to get it! Even if you just put it on a track with no settings dialed in, you'll understand why this plugin is a beast!

Analog goodness!
I'm really happy with my new LA-2's! The warmth in the sound is second to none!
Even if you just use it for its gain, it adds something to the sound that glues it in the mix.

La 2A collection is the best!
I own two quad cards and lots of UAD plugs. I have had the LA 2A since the beginning with the original Mackie branded card.
The new collection is one of the best upgrades I've made to date. All three models are stellar.
I'm currently mixing a project and replaced the original with various combinations of the new collection and I was not only pleased but smiling from ear to ear.
The new collection is the best LA 2A I've ever tried from any company.
Life is good when you can smile. This new collection will make your face hurt!
