If you want something solid, silky and full this is the piece you need. Will be a staple in your studio as well. Can’t beat having as many Avalon’s as you can at once!!!!

Great Sound
Makes vocals sound amazing. A singer I work with loves how his voice sounds so warm and punchy. Dont even need to process his vocals much after. Great Product. You guys at Universal Audio really matched the original Hardware great job.

Unbelievably Awesome
First, the Apollo x4 is a “beast.” I’ve been using a different audio interface with my Yamaha HS8 monitors and it’s always sounded dull. But after connecting the X4, there was a total different sound from my Hs8. It sounded alive and clean. I didn’t have to turn the volume all the way up to hear my music.
Second, the preamps are awesome. I’m spending more time recording now than ever.
Third, the plugins are a miracle. They do wonders.
The console is awesome.

Great plugins
I hate those plugins. I use to know my way around, when it came to mixing, but with these two units... They're fantastic. Why do I hate them...? Because I'm spending too much time applying them (both versions) to pretty much every track in my mix and spending hours enjoying in what they do, instead of getting my work done. But really, these are my new go to plugins for almost any track. Great character easy to use and they feel like home on my 2bus as well. Good job UAD.

Great sounding pedal effect
I got it as a freebie, a welcome plugin if you will. At first I wasn't really sure if I'll use it or not but then I gave it a chance and I wasn't dissapointed. It's a great sounding analog type of chorus which can also be used on a various of material. I use it mainly on my guitars and keys, when I'm mixing but it could be easily used for any of your creative stuff as well. It really sound great, it's easy to use and now it's part of my mixing tools. Oh, and thanks to UAD for such a treat.

If you're serious about music production, especially when it comes down to mixing, then this is one of those plugins which can give your work an additional value. It sounds great on pretty much everything from vocal, to guitars, keys and drums. Want that vintage sound on a vocal chain? Checked. Want just some extra dimension on your drums? Done. Easily on of my favourite plugins. It really is (not so secret) souce.

Avalon is a must...
Just when I thought I've got my vocal chain already set, then this plugin came and...
Just like a real unit, this fellow gives you a special juice, character and great sounding signal for any material that runs thru it. I usually use it as my first plugin in chain like I would normally do it in a hardware setup scenario. I don't own any of the Apollo interfaces (yet) but I'm sure that with its Unison technology, you can use it when recording into you daw and the result would be identical to what and actual hardware unit would gave you. I think it's one of those must have plugins.

Sounds Good
Adds a little harmonic shizzle and compression going in so I can forget about adding it in the mix (because I like to emulate the old days of recording to tape without the actual hassle). I keep it pretty subtle but do think I like what it adds to electric guitar and bass at least, which is all I've used it on so far.

A little thin for my taste
This is the only plug inn from AUD I regret buying. It just sounds a little thin to me to be honest.. If you need a bus compressor I would suggest you to get the SSL its much more effective and thick.

I owned this one once and it sound just as warm! Ive been looking for a software chorus that sounds like that for a while!
