Fantastic Channel Strip
I tried it and realised after a day of A/B testing that its a must have. Works on anything and adds amazing Analog sound to it. Its a high-end Preamp, EQ and Compressor in one. Which is what you normally would build up one at a time in the signal chain for achieving a sound. It gives the same quality of sound as three UAD plugins together. So using the Century Tube Channel Strip enables much faster workflow as you can quickly put it on a channel and quickly dial in a sweet spot that inspires you. I highly recommend it!

I had just bought the Arrow and was in the middle of a session tracking all the vocals with a female singer and we had som time left so I said "Can you give me one last take I just wanna try out this Avalon strip for fun" So we used the "Vocal w/ De Ess" preset and when she came out of the booth to hear it through the speakers we looked at each other and there was no doubt... we re-cut all the vocals with the avalon. Absolutely stunning sound, the harmonics and the way it made the vocals cut through the mix. This strip with a Warm audio 87 clone was a match made in heaven!

Great Sounding Plugin - Terrible UI
Sounds great and does its job remarkably well. The reason for the 3 star review is UI needs a major update. Come on UAD, please get this done!

I am a student at CRAS. They have API legacy consoles we use in a few studios. I became attached to the coloration of the API consoles and punch I can get out of a 2500 buss compressor. Decided I needed the plugin. Glad I made the decision!

Perfect for everything
I've spent a lot of time with this compressor in different musical settings from acoustic duos to crushing rock mixes. I love how you can hit it so hard and it maintains the tone and integrity of the source. It is the best at bringing out bass, drawing attack out of drums, and getting vocals to sit perfectly in a mix without having to ride words. The filters are useful, the distortion provides nice tonal options, and I found the attack and release to be exceptionally useful in shaping sound. I was particularly amazed by how the release time controlled the brilliance of a snare drum. At 6+ it would shorten and warm the snares, at 4 or less, the compressor allowed the bottom mic to ring out after the attack adding more brilliance and sustain to the snares. If I could have only one compressor, this would be it!

Je ne me lasse pas de l’utiliser sur les voix, Capitol chambers ne ressemble à aucune autre reverbe. Elle sonne riche et naturelle. Etonnante sur les toms !

Incredible product and sound
I use this channel with just about every mic that I own. Sounds incredible on a Shure SM7B. I also use it on my LA320 Tube mic. Beautiful sounding channel strip for vocals and adding in the compressor just makes it sound amazing. Huge fan.
