Great Tone!

Almost perfect…
This plugin surprised me a lot. Honestly, I can say it’s my new favorite compressor for almost any use in mixing and mastering. Absolutely incredible.
I’m only giving it four stars because it can’t be used with DSP on my Apollo. I have no idea why UAD did that, I really hope that it could be solved soon.

Simple and effective!
This compressor is amazing. It does perfectly what you should expect. Simple and effective, quick to set. Ideal for rhythmic guitars, but useful for other applications too.

Multiple Outputs
I don't see a way to add multiple outputs using different sounds within the same instance of PolyMax but it is easy to use

I don't know how the designers of the hardware did it, they must have spent years on trial and error and critical listening to design the perfect curves and selected frequencies. This thing was absolutely made for music with predominant low end.
Just play your bass and listen for any thing you don't like. Start tuning the low frequencies and in minutes you will hear a familiar sound that is pleasing to the ear. It is quite obvious to me that UA has expertly modeled this piece. They made me feel special because it almost seems like they made this plugin for me. It's incredible, a must have for pop, reggae, hiphop, rnb and jazz.

Sounds expensive but there are some drawback...
Very good sounding VST. There are not a lot of frills and menu options but that is it's charm, to an extent. MIDI learn on any VST in 2023 is a must. Why UA insists on not having this option is beyond me. Just put a right click learn function. Not a lot of wavetable options but the ones that are available are good. The analog emulation is very warm and authentic. The FX section is pretty basic. There is more clicking around and tabs that I care for but the UI is sleek and modern. Overall a good experience.

Sits well in a mix but no midi learn can be an issue..
This VST sits well in a mix. It does have a familiar sound quality comparable to a hardware synth. The UI is simple and modern. The lack of a midi learn function is a minor drawback. Why this is omitted on all UA synth plugins is beyond me. There are work arounds obviously but if your controller doesn't have an option to change CC numbers on the fly then you are stuck. UA likes to keep with the intrinsic nuances of their hardware emulations which is appreciated but at some point the novelty wears off. This synth sounds good and is simple to use. Simple being the operative word.

It's a shame

It sounds very good.
However, every time I start it up, I get the message 'PLUG-IN NOT LICENSED'. I use the ua application, uninstall it once, install it again and then start it up.
It's a shame because it's realistic and I like the sound.

what can I say this plugin took me to another level now im getting that big Motown sound ive been looking for hitsvillle chambers works well on every channel it was well worth the money, I look forward to adding more universal audio plugins to my arsenal of plugins !

Everyone should have this equalizer. It seems to add warmth and life. I recently became a Universal Audio user and now I'm a fond of them! Plugins sound great!
