Absoulutly Monsterious !!! Pultec Passive Collection
Absoulutly Monsterious !!! Thanks UA you've done it again and I love how you've revised this classic and vital piece of gear. With all the warmth and caracter I would expect from the real things you've really nailed it down to the finest details. It's things like these reissues of "classic collections" that confirm I've gone the right way with using UA's stuff.
Excellent !! Stunning !! Empowering !!!

Positively Pultec
I thought the (now) Legacy Pultec Pro plugin was great, but it has now been surpassed. It is now fairly rare when I have plugins other than UA in my session.
I would love to see a EQP 1a3 emulation now :)

Studio One support
I haven't used the Pultec Pro yet.
Just wanted to comment on J. Battel's review below. I use Studio One Pro v2.5. Works just fine. I have a UAD 2 Quad PCI card. Zero problems... great investment.

Sonic update? Yes!
Great update - defo adds extra dirty crunch to the sound. IMHO best 1176 out there (three of them!) Eats a lot more DSP but worth it.

Lovely upgrade
Very much anticipated - and did not disappoint. On the contrary this upgrade is worth every penny.

2nd review after more than a year of use.
When I compare the sound of audio today to 15 years ago, it seems a lot dryer, reverb tails are much shorter but the audio itself seems much more robust, multilayered and hard hitting. Back when the hardware Lexicon 224 was new, those long reverb tails were part of the culture of music. Snare drums, lead vocals etc. The way we are mixing is always changing. I don't necessarily use reverb to create long tails. I use reverb by aux bussing certain elements of the mix through the Lexicon and placing them behind the audio by using the pre-delay and depth controls. The Lexicon 224 is still my choice reverb for this task due to the fact the unit is so easily eq'd and so rich sounding. Really adds a nice thick and supportive layer.

No track without, EVER
I use this plugin everywhere, loving the 15 ips speed, it smooths everything and gives body to any material. On the Apollo channel strip and in my daw, it is always there to imprint that nice smooth tape sound to all my material. Cannot recommend this enough

LA 2 is never too much
I am in love with this ultra slow model. On vocals and guitars is my to go tool, even while tracking on the Apollo. One of the most beautiful LA emulation ever.

MANLEY EQ...............
A BIT THAT A TRIED.......IT HAS .....A VERY SMOOTH EFFECT...ON WHAT IT DOES...IT IS NOT HARSH.........A ASSUME LIKE THE HARDWARE....AND THAT IS VERY NICE..........AT THE SAME TIME IT WORKS GREAT...THAT IS ALL.........

hum.. not shure for master after all
very impressive plugin, you run the demo, you are impressed by the "3D" effect", you buy it but.. after months of use, finally I take it off my master busses and realize that most of my mixes sound better without.. confusing. I think it can be great on vox, drum busses, accoustic guitars, it can be great for many reasons: warming up the sound, get a sensation of 3 dimensions, high end details, delays effects, wow and flutter.. but on a master, I feel I loose something in the feeling of stereo.. Does someone feel like I do?

All purpose compression with Teletronix LA-2A Leveler Collection
Now, I have never been privileged enough to have opportunity to work on the hardware, that these plugins are emulating. So, I have no opinion as to how they compare to the original hardware units.
What I can say is, the "2", "grey" and "silver" have distinctly different characteristics. I have used them now for several weeks - and on everything. I love the ease of use, the way, using the different versions of the LA-2A depending on the particular character of sound, I am looking for, they help shape the instruments.
Can't wait to get the 1176 re-issue, as well.
Thanks

Studer® A800 Multichannel Tape Recorder Plug-In
Strepitoso, sicuramente uno sei migliori emulatori di registratori in commercio. Non adatto da usare sul master si presta per tutte le singole tracce. A800 farà diventare la vostra sessione analogica al 100% ottimo acquisto!

Pultec Passive EQ Collection
This is it! You guys nailed it! I’ve test it on two mixes of the same song using only Pulteq as eq.
One mix with the legacy and same setting and the other exact same mix with the new ones. I encourage everyone to try so. The difference speaks for himself.
First the 1176 and LA2’s than the API and now those, I frankly didn’t expect such an improvement on the Pultec :-). Thanx UA

Improves my recordings
I definitly love the sound of the Ampex ATR 102. Indeed, I find recordings sound better when they are processed with this plugin. I thought about buying a real tape machine some time ago. Now I'm happy not to have all the hassles with real tape machines - but he sound.

Great easy to use compressor
Not having owned the hardware version, when I saw the UA DBX160 I wondered if I needed another compressor. Well, turns out I did. It is used on 90% of my mixes in various places. Obviously simple to use, but it sounds great as well. Perfect for bass guitar duties - quick and EASY. Dial it up until it sounds good, ignore the meter, and you are good to go.
