UAD2 TRIUMPHANT RECREATION OF THE CLASSICS
I get more mileage out of these plugins than any other plugins I own. Let your ears guide you, nothing I say can benefit you more than your own experience.
I own alot of plugins, but because the quality of the Universal Audio collection, I am abandoning many of my former "go to" plugins. Good riddance to iLok hassles and work flow interruptions and hello positive work flow unimpeded from
UAD2!
The LA2a collection has surpassed any and all expectations and the price point makes it such an easy decision. Well done TEAM UA.

manley
I used to work in a tracking room who had two mono Manley 'pultec type' eqs and also two Pultec eqp-1a3s. Have to say I wasn't that keen on them (Manleys) but totally fell in love with the Pultecs. The Manleys just didn't do the trick with bass, vox, 2 buss in a way the Pultec really excelled. I got some nice results with the Manleys though: great mid-frequency boost for electric gtrs, nice to add some top (quite harsh) to percussion tracks to really cut through...

Awesome plug-in That change recordings to "records"
I consider myself blessed to have come up during an era where tape was still relevant. It wasn't hard for me to transition into the digital domain But the further I got into digital the more I long for the warmth of tape. This plug-in allows you to have that tape warmth while operating in the digital world. The response and characteristics of this plug-in reminds me of a time when I fell in love with working in the studio. I can really appreciate having the Tape sound without all of the Tape machine maintenance.

So nice!
Merci UA!

Lush and Spacious
This reverb plug-in is lush and spacious and adds lot of quality to my mixes and sounds just like real thing. Universal audio never disappoints I love this Plug-in.

1176 plug in revision
I am an owner of an original 1176...this IS by a long stride not only the most accurate replication of the real thing, but it is probably the BEST plug in compressor I've ever heard!!!

THIS IS THE REAL THING
After spending 10 years trying to achieve a decent sound out of my box, this is it. Where all comes down to. You just can't get enough of the warm of this shit!! it's amazing, along with the ampex in the master buss it's just a non-sense not to get it
BUY IT EVEN IF IT'S 500 HUNDRED DOLLARS!! YOU WON'T GET DISAPPOINTED!!

The most beautiful sounding EQ I've ever heard
I never thought I would consider an EQ beautiful sounding. Most EQs are just functional. The Neve EQs add a sheen that is very useful. The SSL adds strength. The Manley Massive Passive is very smooth in it's equalization, but also adds a quality to the sound that I just have to describe as "beautiful". Cambridge EQ was always my goto tool for eq. It is now the Manley Passive.

Tape saturation!
this one gets many uses...
i use it to obtain realistic tape saturation when gain pushed hard...awesome!
also great as an equalizer....especially to soften the high end
and of course multiple instances can be used to add color and tape feel to the whole mix
highly recommended!!!

Impressive
I have had the opportunity to use the Struder A800 on each of the tracks in several projects. The tracks include: vocal, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass guitar, dobro, midi piano and midi drums. Using the Struder adds a feeing of depth to the tracks and a sense of making the mix sound more alive. This has been a very useful addition to my DAW. I should add that mixing with the Struder and then using the Ampex ATR-102 in my mastering setup has impressed me, and just as important, the artists I have been workng with. Thank you UAD.

The Tape Dream
Always loved the sound of tape. It just seems to easy now... but I'm not complaining

Worth it!
Once I tried these and compared them to the legacy, it was pretty much a night and day difference. I love that with these you have 3 different options and especially within each the emphasis knob is there to fine tune it to your material for which frequencies you want compressed. Though i've never used the original hardware, compared to what the la2a plugin was before, these seem to be a giant leap ahead, with such impressive tonal qualities, you can't really pass it up!

Brilliant!
This plugin is so close to the original that I had too sell my unit, no point in keeping it.
Buy it!

The Studer is good, the Ampex is phenominal
This is much more than just a mastering plugin, it's great on tracks too. Ampex made multitrack versions, the ATR-116 and ATR-124, although I've never seen one. The UA plug is a bit too DSP-heavy to use as a track insert, so I print the tracks in a batch process and it is just gorgeous. To be honest the Studer plug doesn't get much use these days, and if I had to choose just one, then Ampex all the way.

Nicely updated Pultecs
In a busy or dense mix, you might not notice much difference over the legacy version, but on airy or sparse material it shines, much like the Manley. The new filter is just beautiful, icing on the cake. Ideal for any sound that needs to stay clean and natural. Although it does have a definite color, the tone shaping is more like sandpaper than a chainsaw. Engineers printed it for decades because it's pretty hard to mess anything up going in. Coming from that background, if I had an Apollo I'd probably print it even today. Now the slight downside: although the plugins are neatly stacked in the graphic, they are individual instances. Unless UA comes up with a chainer, it would be nice to also have a stacked version, like the Pultec Pro.
