Very Pleased!
Terrific set of Vintage Compressors. Simple controls but very detailed response.

ATR-102 - better than the real reel
We was doing a mastering for a rock mix here at Studio Balkandji (Bulgaria) with our Telefunken magnetophon, but we found that changing just a bit for one song is a real pain... Then I started a demo of ATR-102 - here every change is just reloading and tweaking a bit - no recording and replaying from the real tape.... But the sound was SO real, that the client (and me) were so convinced and so happy that I immediately bought it.
Now I am happier than ever, because I can even turn off the tape noise and the hum :)
5 start with no doubt!!

If you only buy one plug-in. . .
. . . get this one. (Or these three, actually). Between these LA-2A variations and the UAD 1176 collection, I can go from working in the big Nashville rooms to my home project studio and not feel like I've stepped out of a Porsche and onto a moped. These guys really capture the feel and grease of the original hardware versions, are easy to use and just make so many things sound bigger and better and more. . . analog and fat. Great gear for anyone at any level, and a great place to start in building a home studio plug-in collection to make things sound real and right. Essential.

CLASSIC COMPRESSOR
THERE'S NO DENYING WHAT THIS COMPRESSOR DOES YOU HEAR IT AS YOU APPLY IT PRETTY SWEET

Much warmer than the UAD 1 version
Very happy with this purchase.....I use on vocal tracks, often in 'flat' mode just to warm up the bottom end......can't live without it......and much cleaner and warmer than the original version.....a must have....

Wonderful...
Incredible Vibe. Easy to use and sounds great on everything. sometime all you hav to do is drive the preamp. its that easy to impart the color and tone that u want into ur tracks and it helps that the EQ and Comp are great as well. jus mixed a project using nothing but the Studer and the API channel Strip. May hav been overkill but that was all i needed on the track.

WOW, this is awesome
I was waiting to buy the API till I got to know the 610b pre. Had a coupon, so I picked up the API, but didn't try it till yesterday. All I can say is WOW. Very warm, very responsive controls. The sound is fantastic. I would recommend this plugin, at least to use in your Unison Pre spot. I'm sure it does great in mixing too, but haven't tried that yet.

3 flavors of LA2A
These plugin sounds so incredible. I rarely used the legacy LA2A but this plugin is essential. And the ability to access three different flavors of LA2A is quite unique. UAD keeps raising the bar with every new plugin.

Amazing Fairchild sound with a mix knob
Using parallel compression is awesome, but setting it up in pro tools native is often problematic. Using the mix knob on this fairchild plugin makes mixing quick and trouble free. This plugin sounds great on vocals, bass, drums, and stereo busses. So much attitude! Easily go from clean to dirty compression in seconds.

Most musical EQ ever!
Tried the demo and knew I would use this on every subsequent mix. Can be pushed hard or soft and always sounds so musical! The stepped knobs on the mastering version are priceless. So good!

Quite Incredible
This plugin is really fantastic. The preamp knob adds the api character I've often searched for in a plugin. And the gate works great on drums. Of course the EQ and compressor are great as well.

Pultec Rules
I love the new Pultes collection! Sounds very thick, very analog.

The Api Vision
The Api vision plugin is an exquisite piece of software. I notice how different the console sounds from all the other consoles such as the 88RS and the Harrison.
Each console has it own character and flexibility which gives me a wide choice in determining the type sound I want when mixing. The API channel strip vision brings it all to the table. It's very warm and brings a solid sound for jazz and R&B music. I love it love it love it.

Instant great drum sound
as an experiment I dropped these onto four clean channels/ Apollo pres when recording my drummer -- one mic in the kick drum, one above the snare and two ribbon overheads through a cloud lifter to the apollo. Wow -- it sounded fantastic immediately, just using the built-in presets. A very convincing take on an analog channel strip! Will be my go-to plugin for tracking drums from now on.

My favorite tape emulator, by far
I happen to have a real ATR 102 1/2" deck, and it's really the only mix down deck I know intimately. The UAD comes damn close. I really dig what it does to the bottom end. It has a tendency to "pull in" the low mids, which can be really nice on some things (most things, actually, at least for my mixing style), but sometimes thins out a bit too much. With all that said, though, there are so many options (tape formula, tape width, speed, tons of cal choices, tranny in or out, etc) that it just opens up a TON of possibilities, and it's usually easy to find what works best for a particular mix.

Immense character, glue & compression
Love this plugin so far, sit it on the master bus as last on the chain and it does wonders for warming, gluing and slight compression. Look forward to experimenting with it!

Better than the rest
I've demo'd and and owned quite a few eq plugins, including other putleq emulations. While other emulations are very good, the UAD package just sound closer to your source material. Where as some plugins feel like they are tacked on, these plugs envelope your sound and feel like they come from within.

Sounds Fantastic!
Having never heard a real Pultec I have no basis to say wether or not this unit is authentic but man, do they sound great! The bottom end is just fantastic and the high end is sweet. Finally nice to be able to hear what so many people have been going on about for all these years. Nice job UAD!

my 224 test
I put this plugin on a feature I mixed a while back just to test it against the plugs I was already using, specifically the Valhalla Room, Waves IR, and reverberate. While the IR based verbs fared better with things like realistic rooms and such, the Lex really did a great job on the more musical types of reverbs I put in for some of the effect tracks. My next test was with a song my partner was producing. We tested it against the Valhalla Room, Spark Verb, the stock Waves and Avid verbs, and the 2CAucio algorithmic verbs. It fared very well in all matchups. While it can't do what the 2Caudio verbs or the Spark verbs can do, what it does it does VERY well. For a feature, when native resources are scarce, this is my go to verb now.
