Incredibly authentic
I admit I haven't used more than iteration of the LA2A, so the different versions i cant speak for. however; The one I am familiar with, sounds perfect, using the same pre, going into a real LA2A into the apollo using a true system precision 8, one real, one emulated, mic splitter, accurate down to the sample. Pretty incredible.

Brings back so many memories
I used to use this hardware when I played in bands years ago and the sound is just as I remember it.
Great plugin

Wicked Simplicity
Radically different is going to be hard to come by in this day and age however, in my newest mixing endeavor I find this unit to be exceptional. I now work for the Pure Momentum Network mixing down hours of talk shows everyday and while dealing with a variety of signals this unit entertains my need for something interesting and does the job of managing the dynamics of a conversation like nothing else. I like some attributes of the LA-2A for telephonic applications due to it's dark nature, Sometimes I like the brighter character the 1176, the versatility of the Fairchild..but, this unit adds an upper 4th octave boost and a slight "gravel" or tube like character unique to the LA-3A which equals wicked simplicity for me.

a classic
This reverb is a true classic and the plug-in software version from UAD completely holds up to my expectations. it sounds lush and wonderful all around. Being able to adjust the reverb tails on separately for mid and bass as well as the treble decay makes this an amazing reverb for synths as well as any othe instruments really. Great purchase!

Compressionista
I think out of all of the available compressors through UA, this series is my favorite. Very easy to make something sound great with this group. 5 stars!

Rock and Roll
If you do rock -- this is the plug for you. Nice in your face sound that I remember.

Resources
Just got my Apollo Twin Duo recently. This thing uses a ton of resources compared to the legacy version. Beware.

Good variety
Love the new 1176 collection, only used them for the past week, but so far, I'm super happy. Love the blue stripe version, and the 2:1 ratio on the AE is great to have. Well done UAD, you might not support AAX for Windows yet, but I'll wait happily.

LA2A MK II
Lovely update of the LA2A. UA is doing a fantastic job with the MKII's.

Fairchild MK II
Th new MKII's are all great. This one is extra special to me. What it does on the 2 Bus is a beautiful thing. I feel like the plugin is one of the least talked about of the MKII's on the internet. It shouldn't be. It is a mojo machine:)

Very nice upgrades!
Like the old Fairchild, but the new 670 is a lot nicer and you get the 660 as well.
I often use just to pass something through without any compression taking place. Acts as some kind of glue on the mix bus. Just try it to see if you like it, it's a well known 'Fairchild trick'.

a must have DAW foundation
I have long sought a solution when using my DAW [Sonar X3] for having, at my fingertips, what I used to have with my old analog board from a prehistoric age; a trim control, parametric EQ with Texas Instruments 4147 op amps. The bonus for me was the hi and lo pass filters & sidechain patch, compressor & gate. After trying the Neve and SSL strips, while good, I found the API Vision strip gave me what was most appealing to my ears. And to never had the opportunity to use any world class analog boards in the past, to be able to sit down in front of 24 channels of API Vision is simply a dream come true. Thanks UAD. You got this one right.

I love this thang!
This strip sounds badass. Total attitude to my ear. However, I have found less is more.
really easy to overdue it... One criticism, its wicked processor hungry. I'm using a Apollo Twin for my travel rig, and one instance eats up a lot of processor DSP. :-(
