Analog sound
Saying that a digital plug-in will recreate any piece of analog hardware will always cause a debate between audio purists and the new era digital producers, now saying that a digital plug-in will recreate a piece so loved, so famous and so powerfull like the Teletronix la-2a will undoubtedly make many people go crazy, and thats what happens with the UAD La-2a collection you go crazy. I had the chance to make an A/B comparison between a fisical Universal Audio la-2a and this plug-ins and even when some little diferences can be heard for the fifth or sixth time you make the comparison i will say that this recreation is the most accurate of them all, the hardware is lovely but i prefer the versatibility of the plug-in and its amazing sound.

Immensely useful tool
This is a very useful compressor finding it's way into every song. Well, that's obvious isn't it. The original is a classic for a reason! I have the hardware model too and have taken to tracking through it lightly and then putting a heavy dose on in the mix with the plugin version. Works great!

Another great plugin!
I picked up the LA-3A specifically to use with drums in my mixes but found that it's no one trick pony and is a great all around compressor that adds character and warmth.

Great Go-To Plugin
This is a go to plugin for me on vocals and guitars. Adds body, warmth and a nice top end. I'd consider this bundle one of must haves in anybody's toolbox. It even sounds great and adds a little some thing to a track just by being inserted.

This is a special plugin
I'm an intermediate mastering engineer. I've tried other brand tape machines and found dissatisfaction. I put this thing on a mix in my master session and I swear, it was like the cute skinny girl in college that came back after summer break filling out her jeans. She went from cute to, damn, flat out bad! How did that happen, so round, so nice a bottom. Had to have it. It completed my master. Its easy to use and has some complexity to it, but not overwhelming. Not that I tried but girl was not for sale, the plugin was which made that ass so much nicer! Get it.

Great for Punch!
Picked this up to help add punch to my mixes. It goes great on kick and snares. Very cool tool for blending in parallel compression. It is definitely not for everything though. It has a tendency to be a little too aggressive sometimes. It can really add some life to dull tracks.

WTM BIGTIME!
Worth The Money. I got it on sale, but so worth the full price. Brings clarity and glue to my mixes like nothing else. Absolutely LOVEIT!

My go to EQ
Never tried the original, but regardless of that I think this thing sounds amazing. Just putting a signal through it adds some butter. The boost and attenuation feature is very musical and is generous in smearing color over the sound source. One of these days I should try out the real deal, but just as what in can do to my sound now, is all that it takes.

One of my favorites
The color, attack/release times and high pass filter make this a great piece for a drum buss, bass or vocal. The way it controls the dynamics of the snare is one of my favorite things. It keeps your material tight and controlled while giving you a lot of usable vibe.
I also enjoy using the 660 on vocals, bass and other mono sources. Both the 660 and 670 add great tone and control for what you need. It's also nice that you get the 670 Legacy plug-in with this bundle. It let's you have the Fairchild tone when you may not have the DSP or don't want to use the full plug-in on less important material.
All the presets on this plug-in make it a great overall compressor that's gonna get a lot of use in each session you're running.

Amazing!
I've used the hardware version of this and I can honestly say I can't really tell a difference between it and the software. Universal Audio has bridged the gap between analog and digital that the differences are just too minimal to really notice. Great product and great company!

Manley EQ
Manley has a beautiful and warm sound. It is great for vocals, instruments and subgrupe..

Pultec try it you'll buy it!
i had the legacy version of the Pultec and was a little sceptical whether the new version could really be any better. Well in short yes! - Sounds even fuller with excellent high end detail. Brilliant on most everything but for me shines on vocals!

go-to eq
Once I put a Pultec across the mix buss I was simply blown away
Also becoming my go-to EQ for vocals, guitars, drums

Incredible.
I'm that guy that swears by hardware. In my opinion, any argument saying software can hold it's own has been denial, until now. After favorably A/B comparing this with my API hardware, I test drove it on a mix. The Vision strip shined, and the client was beyond thrilled. Here's a hardware snob's experience with this plug:
It's easy to get results like it is with hardware.
It sounds musical like hardware.
The cumulative effect is warm and gluing like hardware.
While not 1:1 the same as my API hardware, the two are interchangeable without a sacrifice in quality.
This one is a true must have for anyone mixing ITB or hybrid.

Great
These have become one of my favorite to add to a number of tracks. They really help make the sound that I go after, and sometimes just merely having them in the chain brings some of that little something extra a life to a mix.

Pretty Freakin Sweet
I'm going with 4 stars instead of 5 just because it's not real tape and their of course will always be some sort of analog magic, some ethereal sparkle that no digital device will ever re-capture. . . But this sounds awesome in it's own right and gets very close to my memories of nice tape machines. . . But it's kindof it's own thing. Adds a certain heft and density to the recording that is subtle but very very cool for taking tracks "over the edge". . .

:-( I didn't have $2500 but I had $249 :-)
This reverb is awesome. The classic Lexicon 224 is still around after all these years. The price of the vintage unit is about $2500 or more. The vintage Lexicon 448 can be found cheaper sometimes.
So to have this unit for $249 was an amazing deal but I got it for cheaper with the store voucher coupon. Awesome.

Finally!
I have tried a few other 1176 plugins over the years, and I just couldn`t understand what all the fuss was about. They never really sounded good to me. I have never heard the real thing, but everybody whose heard it raves about it and I couldn`t get any good sounds out of any of them. They just got spiky when you pushed them har.
But now I get it. When I push these plugins hard they get warm and raspy or bright and punchy without getting fizzy or harsh. Good job!

Fantastic Recreation
What I love about the ATR-102, is the sound.
While you can push it to extremes for effect purposes, for me it is the subtle quality it imparts when you use it as you would the actual machine(s). Tape saturation and compression should be subtle, if the machine is set up properly. The ATR-102 gives you all the options of the real thing, with a variable sonic signatures you get from various tape speeds and formulations. This plug-in won't work magic, but it will finesse your mix to bring out some hidden qualities, which is part of the charm of tape. I actual wish UA had given us the sound of the head engaging just to round out the overall package.
Excellent plug-in, well worth the price.
