Precision & Quality
I only had twice the opportunity to use this Manley EQ in its hardware version and its price range made it unaffordable for my home studio use.
Thanks to UAD & Manley R&D teams to propose us a plugin version. On my Apollo, it's working like a charm. The presets are very useful for newbies or for non experimented EQ users.
Hope one day to see a Manley TNT as an UAD' plugin

TELETRONIX - Bar None Vintage Modelling
I bought this collection immediately after hearing the included emulation of the original LA-2 model (the oldest version, pictured at the bottom of the stack). I have every other LA2A-inspired plugin emulation out there, and I've never heard anything like this. This is one of those rare plugins that really tap into that analog magic/voodoo. I never buy a plugin until I've used it for the full demo period, trying it on everything. I'm not impulsive that way. And I'm very picky with compressors in particular. Most compressors, once you properly gain match the before and after clips, don't make the cut. This plugin was just so on the mark that I bought it without thinking about it. This is a phenomenal accomplishment from UAD. Bravo!

An Essential Plug-In
The UAD ATR-102 is on every 2-MIX of mine. It works with every project, it makes everything sound better. It has warmth, punchiness and depth that feels true. This Ampex makes my mixes sound complete. Lots of smoothness and character. As I wrote before, it's on every one of my 2-MIXES.

My favorite UAD Plug-In
This is my go to reverb plug-in. It is musical, with rich and versatile spaces. For me it's paid for itself over and over again. Spot on!

The Missing Link
The Ampex ATR-102 does everything that it said it could do - it just returns the warmth and glide of recording with an analogue tape machine back into your DAW ~ great!

1176 review
I was skeptical to say the least about how good this plugin collection of 1176s would sound, but, I have to admit I am pleased with the results. I own the waves and softube emulations that also sound good, but I am impressed with the sonic capability of this UAD emulation.

Very pleased with the Studer
I got my first Universal Audio Hardware about a month ago - the Twin Duo. Have mostly used the Studer. I love it. This is a new level up from the other plugins I´ve used. Working on a song for the moment, the Studer is used on nearly all tracks.

Manley
Manley Massive Passive. This plugin sounds almost as horrible as the 5000 hardware version.
Manley Massive Passives are known for their legendary terrible sound quality and this is a plugin that has captured every detectable nuance of the original.
Plugins sound inescapably different but as far as I could tell I just needed to play with a couple bands to match the sound generated by a friend's hardware unit almost flawlessly.
Crap who am I kidding it's awesome, and you should buy one.

Amazing!
Absolutely the best 1176 plugin till today. Each one has a special taste, so you can use them in every track on your session. Actually I have a Lindell 7x but I'm preferring the UAD 1176 because is so faithfull to the original and much more easy to make recalls.

Fairchild on vocals... heaven!
I tried the LA-2A and loved it on vocals, but then just for kicks, I tried the Fairchild and I was blown away! There is nothing better than this for me on lead vocals, it is plain sweeeeeeeeeet!

Ampex glory!
Ampex ATR-102 is sheer perfection on the master bus. This gives all of the character, warmth and charm of the hardware version... this is the glue for the final mix. With the Ampex ATR-102 you really don't need a master-bus compressor. The Ampex ATR-102 does enough compression that on it's own... it might be slight, but it is the super-glue of your mix. What a beautiful and colorful plugin. My second favorite behind the Harrison 32 EQ.

Tape vibe to the max...
I recently bought the Neve 542 Tape Emulator hardware and I will say, that is perfection as far as tape sound goes, but this Studer A800 can get super close to the Neve and I was really amazed by it. I would say the Studer gets you about 85% of the way there and for those times I don't feel like tracking with the Neve, I can always add the Studer later and feel confident that I won't lose to much of what I would of had if I would have tracked with the Neve.

Lexicon 224 What a dream!
I really dig this plugin. I love it on lead guitars, acoustic guitars and sometimes even on vocal tracks. The Lexicon 224 has it's own unique sound and really delivers in any scenario.

c'est Plug-in que j'apprécie tout particulièrement, il apporte un grain au son qui est propre a ce type de compresseur.
il est très redoutable.

Pultec
Had the luxury of an immediate a/b between the plugin version and the hardware version of the same Pultec EQ on the vocal I did for a friend's song.
While the two weren't identical, the truth is there wasn't anything discernibly off from the plug compared with the hardware once a couple settings get adjusted, and the same amount of eq adjustments would likely be required of two hardware units when you factor in calibration, age, original Pultec hardware vs kit rebuild - might just be in a different way.
Hardware connoisseurs say it's not quite the same, my own take is Universal Audio makes that delta feel like you're splitting atoms to complain about it.
The only problem with ua plugins? Nothing, and they have more you haven't tried.

Sounds Great
I can't say I own or have extensive experience with any of the hardware UA modeled here, but I can say (and I am about to use a cliche that has ventured beyond mere overuse) that aside from the compression itself, these emulations add warmth to whatever sound flows through the algorithm. Really like how it sounds on my vocal tracks, not to mention the straight forward controls. But mainly, in a comparison with the legacy LA-2A that came with my UA interface, it seems to sound much more like the sound source is actually passing through hardware adding that certain...whatever it is. Call it color, call it warmth, subtle harmonics, placebo. I like it. Can my mom hear a difference in her car on an Mp3 vs. simple leveling via automation? no
