Two thumbs up!
Just slap it on your buss and tweak slightly "magic". Not sure about other tape emulations but this one worked as avertised.

These sound AMAZING!
I was using the cla2a and IK white but these UAD la2a is on another solar system. They sound BEAUTIFUL and worth the price.

1176 Classic Limiter Collection a Superb Plug in from Universal Audio
This Collection is a very good product from UA just like many others of theirs.
Think it ll be very difficult to find a better superior classic 1176 plugin from anywhere else.
Very Good on UA and keep up the great work with the Plug-ins and every audio product that you put out there.
Thanks

Completely blown away
So impressed with the tonality, response and depth that this unit brings to vocals, snares, guitars and whatever else I throw at it.

Fairchild Tube Limiter collection
Great set off compressor options for a mix engineer. Great for drums, bass, and vocal compression. I love the easy access control for the attack (DC threshold) and the option to blend the compressed and uncompressed signals.

LA3A Rocks!!!
This software stands up to all the LA2 and 1176 plugins I have and it has a similar sound to my LA4 hardware units which have always been my go to limiters for vocals. It's definitely a bargain at the price and I have to recommend it to anyone needing more limiting power.

Really nice channetlstrip
Warm, powerful and responsive: fine and effective tool for recording & mixing !

Hhhhmmmmm..
Just nice, all i can say.. 5 stars.

Fairchild magic
Never used the hardware. But so few have.
This VST certainly brings a special touch to audio manipulation.
Again the collection bundle slays the legacy version, in all aspects. Especially the sidechain access, which absolutely changes how it reacts... a feature that renders the legacy-version toothless by comparison [despite me using it everywhere, prior to getting the full-fat version] .
Love this plug-in. Regular use in all sessions.
.
LA-2A collection ; awesome.
Yet again, the collection pack outperforms the legacy version. By quite some margin.
Levelling amps really do it for me, and I use these a lot.
Grey for bite, silver for all-over goodness & tone control.
Killer plug-ins.

excellent 1176 collection
This collection pack is a real step up from the 'legacy' version.
I hesitated, until the recent price drop, and took the plunge.
Huge on character, much crisper than the legacy version. more dynamic definition when pushed.
Really changes how a sound fits in a mix.
It can radically alter level for more control in mixdown.
Can't compare to hardware, but nor can 99% of punters....
Used on an apollo quad, with great monitors in the studio, this plug-in can spank your speaker-cones to their limits !
.
Great Compressor
Just great! For vocals, drum, bass, guitars and anything else! My favorite compressor in three different variants!
T. Hinterholzinger
a great alternative
I bought the UAD2 after testing this plugin. I own and love the Waves and Abbeyroad tape plugins. But this takes everything one step further. But you have to listen very carefully, or you'll overdo it! Watchout for HF boosts and bassdrum smear. If you stay just right under the "too much"-level, everything comes to life in a very beautiful way with this plugin. Killer on the drumbus!!

150 years ago they'd've burned y'all as witches!
The Fairchild 670 seems to me to vindicate completely UA's decision to focus on emulation.
The symbiosis between analogue and digital seems flawless, the genius of the Fairchild designer is allowed to come through because the genius' at UA have had the skill and humility to make their work invisible.
I also think the AMPEX emulation has this quality too!
I guess what I'm trying to say is that, having worked in the box with the usual plugin suspects for years I'm now finding that UA's plugins are teaching me more about recorded sound than I could've imagined. For that I have to say thank you!
