Nice variety, smoother sound.
Very great update. Although honestly I use the original a lot still because of low CPU hit. It already was so good. But this is definitely an essential addition to your UAD library.

My Go To Compressor!
The head engineer at a studio I interned at put me on to the Bomb Factory version of these plugins. They were great, I loved them but then I found out about the UAD Fairchild Legacy and newer versions! These are wayyyy better than Bf's version which in my opinion add too much saturation to the sound. The UAD version can be easily controlled to add light compression without the heavy saturation.
I literally use this plugin in all my vocal tracks, love the warmth and clean sound it gives to them!! A+

You can't go wrong with it. Absolutely fantastic. I mainly use on vocals and acoustic guitar but it sounds great at almost everything.

Magic Wand
I don't how but it works great on anything. Mix bus, bass, drums, vocals, guitars etc. Simple to use and really sounds beautiful. I got it with my Apollo twin at October Sale but really worth to buy. Thumbs up for the price/performance monster.

UA Does it again!
I've been using this plugin for a few weeks now and this beat all tube tech/ pultech emulations on the market. Having worked with the hardware I can attest to the fact that this plugin sounds just as good if not better than the real thing. I say better because I have encountered pultec gear that was not kept in proper working condition and when the hardware is not maintained properly the sound is garbage. I mostly use the EQ-P1a, the high end is silky and smooth the bottom end thick and heavy. I love inserting it on my mix bus, which is something you can't do with the hardware.

LOVE USING THIS HIP HOP OR ADD IT ON TWO TRACK OR SUBMASTER TO ADD SOME WARMTH AND THICKNESS. DEFINITELY LOOKING TO TRY OUT THE OTHER TAPES EMULATION AS WELL

The word you're looking for is ... CHARACTER!
The difference that sets this LA-2A collection apart from the legacy model, and also models from other companies, is the very distinct voice of each compressor in the collection. the effect of the compression seems as light-handed as you would want it to be on the LA-2As, but even turning it on imparts a sonic effect on whatever track you choose - each has its own chunk and presence. And the LA-2 is simply a beast! I'm already seeing an effect on my mixes as I replace other LA-2A models with instances from this collection. WOW!

Versatile and great punch for drums, buss and most anything.
I love the update for additional depth of tone, HPF side chain, built-in parallel mode, M/S. My only gripe is when controls are linked after being unlinked, settings should modify from where they were left, not jump right to the same setting. This would be helpful for M/S processing. The easy work around is to just stay unlinked, but unbalanced link would save some time. Thanks for making the best sounding modeled plugins!

This one beats the competition (J37 & Satin) by a looooong shot, it provides warmth and character like no other tape plugin I've tried. Put it on the master bus for extra glue and finish.

Unbeatable for tracking
during a live tracking session if you want to add an instant character change on a new vocal or instrument track try the Studer - it can be as subtle or as ballsy as you want it to be, I prefer it to walk the line there so it's more of a "feel" thing - push it just to the point where you start to hear a little overload and then back it off. Also the EQ options are killer for HF and LF roll off! Backing these tape sounds up against the sound of cleaner digital signals gives a really cool effect in a track. Definitely 100% happy with my purchase.

Subtle and deep tape emulation
this model is so detailed in terms of controls and options that you'll be able to tweak away endlessly to your heart's content -but it can also be as quick as you want it to be. Every new tool lends a different possible flavor, but this plugin is probably close to as subtle and variable as actually having one of these machines. Really looking forward to trying the ATR out on new mastering projects coming up.

Adds a perfect glueing in all my work as mastering comp, just some dB reduction and it sounds richer. I use it too on vocals to smooth them down and give them thickness and color. I had a so special sound that when i need it i know that i need it.

Nothing compares to UAD's 1176, this takes it that much further. Probably my favorite plugin period.
