Simple and effective
What a great and simple to use compressor. It was always my go to compressor for bass guitar but I have used it on vocals and guitars too, it sounds greats

I’m In Love!
I’ve been looking for a good quality tape emulation plug-in for a good 2 years or so! So, after I purchased my new UA Apollo Twin, and read some reviews on the Oxide Tape, I decided to purchase it with my promo code(s). I got Oxide at no cost (thanks, UA!), but after using it in my mixes on vocals, piano, strings, etc. I Absolutely Love what it brings to my tracks!! It does exactly what it’s supposed to do, and you really can hear the difference it makes; it’s authentic, polished (or grimy if you really want to push it up!), and so Amazingly easy to use and dial in your saturation amount. It’s really inspirational to work with, and you truly get the feeling that you’re working with an Amazing, Historic analog 2 inch tape hardware reel. Knowing what I know now, I’d have paid considerably more than the current price. If you’re curious, or even dubious, give it a try - you will not regret it for a second! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Nice but not definitiv...
Nice sounding plug with low dsp usage. I would use it in not demanding situations where not many parameters should be tweaked. I find it often too harsh sounding in comparison to my beloved ATR-102. I miss a WET/DRY knob for parallel processing (like many other UAD plugs). GUI is not scalable as well. For the price range there are many better options out there. If you are a demanding guy go for the ATR-102 and never look back.

Good on dance tracks
It has a place on certain sounding tracks and gives it "that sound" that we are familiar hearing on certain tracks. especially, in the 4k mid range frequency boost. I bought it because it made a lot of sense when I put it on my track, it had that specific mid range presence that just worked to get me where I needed to go. I don't feel it suites every single master, or genre, but its really dependent on the material. However, when it works, it works in an irreplaceable fashion. Buy it, you won't regret it. You're bound to need to use it down the line on something

The Distressor done right
I bought a Distressor the first year they were available and used it for many, many years. This plugin is fantastic and captures the sound and even the feel in exceptional detail. I retired my hardware a while ago and am so so happy to have an EL8 back in my toolbox.

Try this one first!
I remember the hardware first hitting the market and I thought, "Great, another flipping compressor, with big, white, over-sized, cheap looking knobs!" Frankly, I thought there was a good chance the looks alone may sink the product. Then I heard it! It had something, some color, some attitude that was different from the others. The plug-in is a very close match and I find myself using it instead of some of the classics, such as the 1176. Don't get me wrong, I still love the 1176, both hardware and plug-in, but now there is another, useful tool, in the tool box. If I had heard this one first, I question if I would have purchased any other compressors. Perhaps a couple of LA2A's but maybe not. In short, if you are looking for your first compressor plug-in, try this one first. If you already have compressor plug-ins, you should really try this one. It will expand your sonic pallet.

Vocal control in one easy tool
This plugin has become my all-in-one vocal control tool. It is a modern wonder. Excellent control in either line-in or live mic'ing. I'd recommend it to anyone having difficulty with vocals, acoustic instruments and electric guitar shaping. Class A preamp is the center of control. It's nice having access to the plugin version of the Voxbox as the hardware is well beyond my finances. Manley makes amazing tools and the Voxbox is one of their star players. Thank you UA for placing this into the hands of the bluecollars! You folks are to be applauded for your dedication! God Bless you all!

I bought it for the pre-amp
...and keep it for the pre-amp. I think their 550A eq sounds a lot better, but just putting the Vision strip on some key tracks and the output buss adds some nice transormery tone I really like sometimes. Also a sweet color as a Unison pre-amp, which I use for most everything I record through the Twin interface.

Indispensable!
I use this a lot. Tape flanging, delay, but most importantly on the mix buss. It really does sound like an ATR 102, the best sounding 2 track ever produced. The sound is so legit I check it to see if it ran out of tape yet (it never does).

LA-3A is a little but great one
Works great, not DSP-hungry and fits your audio-material in the mix. I use it a lot and would recommend this plugin.

Rich & Fat! Easy to understand and operate!
The Oxide adds another priceless tool to my selection of UA Tape plugins which I now use in just about every mix session. This one really shines on Kicks and Bass elements and brings a powerful and rich fatness to the sound. Amazing!
