For years I have heard successful working Producers & Mix Engineers talk in online video's about putting a particular VST plugin or piece of hardware gear on Your audio project to instanlty take it to the next level.
I put the UAD Sound City Studios Plugin on My Master Stereo Buss and for the 1st time ever My audio project's are now being taken to the next level !!!
This experience has gifted Me with an added confidence to continue to learn and keep improving My audio projects !!!

Disappointed!
Unfortunately, it's a different league than Softube. The first plug-ins from UA, which for me are simply poor. The sound is plastic and lacks bite. On the other hand, you can play delicate phrases and it sounds quite nice.

finally a truly efficient compressor : I use it for piano and electric guitars, with excellent results.

Amazing plugin
I was working with a vocal that was in need of serious help. I had a signal chain of 7 other plugins and still couldn't get a warm full sound and was planning on re-recording the vocal track. As a last ditch option, I purchased this plugin as the hardware was out of reach. It is now the ONLY plugin on the signal chain and made an exponential difference on the vocal and took 5 minutes to get there! My sanity check person said the vocal was "....10 times better." I would love to have the hardware, but this is an amazing substitute at 1% of the cost! Its my go to vocal plugin from now on.

TRUE TO THE ORIGINAL DESK BUS COMPRESSOR
I HAVE SOOOO MANY BUS COMPRESSORS BUT UA (AS PER USUAL) CAPTURED THE TRUE SOUND OF THE SSL CONSOLE COMPRESSOR. IT LIVES ON MY 2 BUS!
