The warmth from this plugin is incredible!
Using it on my mixbus at the moment and it really rounds off the bottom and also adds subtle saturation which makes my mixes sound super warm. Absolutely love it!

I like these but I'm tired of buying them over and over again
When I first bought my UAD-1 card in 2004, the LA2A was included in the bundle. Then they upgraded it and called the version I had "Legacy". I again had to shell out cash for the non legacy version. Then when upgraded to UAD2 system, I once again had to purchase the LA2As as my UAD1 versions were once again labelled "Legacy". So now, I upgrade one more time, until the next time I suppose.

Empirical Labs EL8 Distressor
Admittedly I'm new to UA products, having only recently purchased my Apollo Twin X. One of the first plug-ins I purchased was the Distressor. I've used them quite a bit in various studios. The plug in sounds great! So far, I've only used it for bass guitar tracks, for which it works perfectly.

Spectacular sound
At BestMixingMastering.com , we throw the LA2A on many different sounds. The LA2A will enhance any sound you throw at it; not just vocals and bass. This is a ‘must-have’ in the UAD collection, as it can take your clean digital signal and give it some mojo.

Buy this one first!
If there'd be only one plugin you can afford, then you should probably choose this one! It's so versatile and does so much of good things to my vocal chain, I'm really impressed!

Does a great job with orchestral samples
I just bought a license to Capitol Chambers today.
I tried it on an orchestral piece I was working on. Let me first mention the one minus. It is incredibly hungry. It will eat up your processor leaving little room for many other UAD plugins. I was only able to add my Avalon plugin. I could not use my Fairchild. I replaced it with my Oxide tape to provide some analog.
Despite that, I'm still giving it 5 stars because the reverb is simply incredible.
It simply takes your sound to another place. I strongly recommend this plugin.

Great Emulation and a Worthy Upgrade
I had used the legacy models for a long time, and I was very happy to have jumped on the sale when I did. Super flexible, easy to use, and they sound great on nearly anything. I've quite enjoyed digging into the MEQ-5 as well for midrange boosts, and I appreciate having an output control on both models. Totally worth it.

I don't use this plugin all the time, but there are often sources that I know I just need LA-3A - and there it is. This is kind a workhorse, but with character. Before this plugin I could get the same result but I had to dig into some of my compressors, and this one is just make my work faster and esier!
