Easy. Very, very easy. My new favorite!
My drums have never sounded better.

Punch and Clarity
ads up clarity and punch while gluing your mix together. It feels like everything is encapsulated in a clear epoxy glue when you can see everything yet you can not separate it.

Top !
Very nice for vocals and snare too!!

Terrible Instruments !!!
That's soooooo worse to CPU. I'm M1 max, it could use 30% cpu when I use it only.

Now please do an Apollo version
After buying into the UAD DSP ecosystem, I don't love that I am forced to use precious CPU resources to run this on my computer. The results sound amazing though and really allow for some creative experimentation in the sound field.

My workhorse.
I have over a dozen software compressors from most of the major companies, but this is my go to. From subtle to pumpy and everything in-between. It adds just the right amount of vibe for my taste. Used in conjunction with the API channel strip it always brings a smile to my face.

Stupid good
Versatile and smooth. This is such a good compressor for a number of different purposes but have absolutely loved using it on my drums

VOXBOX for VO
As a Voice over actor and vocalist, I'm constantly refining my sound. I currently use an Austrian Audio OC818 (Smooth) & Sennheiser 416 (bright) microphones. Both require different types of processing chains. The beauty of the VOXBOX is that pre amp is a good match for the Austrian audio while the Pultec style EQ helps smooth the edges off the 416.
To use one word to describe it's character... Silky.

The Real Deal!
Now this is how 1176's are supposed to sound! Other emulations just don't cut it. Thanks UA for making your plugins Native!

Best Matering Compressor!
Truly the best mastering compressor out there! Can get any tone from transparent and silky to very aggressive.

Whoops!
CPU sucker … almost make it useless… only way I can use it is by processing after the fact no real time processing … I do get decent results but the fact that I doesn’t work Apollo really sucks… I have an octo card but it’s useless with native… for that I give it 2 thumbs down

A classic!!
Universal Audio has recreated 3 classics to such granular detail, it’s like having the actual units in front of you!

Much needed space!!
This plugin has made its way to every session since I purchased it! The sound of the room is not overwhelming at all.

Unreal
Just an unbelievable way to change tone and space with ease, and with such realism. Compressor is a very special addition. Can be CPU hungry so judicious use is a necessity, but this takes stale samples or recordings and breathe new life into the sound in a number of creative ways.

Iconic sound
Just so easy to get good sounds from this. Subtle changes in mic position or selection can make the reverb fit so easily in a mix. And great presets to save you some time. Must have for anybody working with vocals regularly.

more than just "vox"
I've used the voxbox now and then with a singer I work with in the past, before this was native, and at the time I didn't think it did that much for his vocals.
Fast forward to a month or so ago, and I had an overly sharp strummed guitar to deal with, and I decided to try the VoxBox colours and the awesome De-esser included on it, and nothing else worked as smoothly and easily as this channel strip.
What I learned, is if you need taming and smoothing out on a source, while maintaining and bringing out the better part of the mids, look no further. If your program material is already too soft, the VoxBox will hardly feature the source on a mix. Horses for courses, this is not just for Vox.

Make the effort UA
It's a decent rotary emulator albeit a bit shy when it comes to the options. But it should really come free with the Waterfall B3, and most importantly they should port it to DSP. I can understand that they don't want to spend the resources to port a mastering compressor to DSP, but this one begs to run on the Apollo.

Classic and beautiful !
I have long waited for this kind of tool to work in the box! not only is it efficient because of its functionality, but it is also available in vst! which allows to work in the box on all the buses! bravo the Uad team!
