Save some money
Being around the recording industry for 50 plus years I owned an original Avalon. I sold it because I did not need it at the time. I bought the plug in on sale what a money saver it sounds the same . I would recommend this plug in as opposed to buying the hardware save some money. A lot of money . Old man who can still hear .

Knocked it Out
1 word - Wow! UAD Hitsville EQ/Mastering emulation knocked a 23 year old re-master project out of the park. They make mastering a leisure rather than a chore. The song was a nice upbeat Bop or Steppers tune that pays tribute to the 60’s Hitsville Big era. The pre-sets are enough to satisfy most needs. But clicking the UAD embedded Instruction video opens a door to true creativity! Worth every penny

Lush detailed best chamber reverb
This thing is great, especially on vocals where you want a slightly dark and thick vintage chamber verb. Adds great drama and 3d elements to a sound and paces it perfectly in the mix. You can also run this really wet and it still sounds unbelievably good!

Be prepared for some investment in time...
This has a lot going on under the hood and I think is capable of some great sounds. Certainly I was able to get a lovely mono>stereo sound for acoustic guitar with a single mic source. However I also found it slowed me down due to option overload. Plus, it is moderately hard work for my few year old Imac . I found myself reverting to more familiar plugins (UAD as often as not) to get my project done. A WIP for me...

Excellent
This plugin makes it easy to get a good sound quickly, and get on with it. There's good nuance under the hood, but the presets are nice and get you going quick. I have another Rhodes plugin with as much or more tweakability, but I found this one gave me something I bonded with quicker.

Punch and Clarity
ads up clarity and punch while gluing your mix together. It feels like everything is encapsulated in a clear epoxy glue when you can see everything yet you can not separate it.

That's soooooo worse to CPU. I'm M1 max, it could use 30% cpu when I use it only.

After buying into the UAD DSP ecosystem, I don't love that I am forced to use precious CPU resources to run this on my computer. The results sound amazing though and really allow for some creative experimentation in the sound field.

My workhorse.
I have over a dozen software compressors from most of the major companies, but this is my go to. From subtle to pumpy and everything in-between. It adds just the right amount of vibe for my taste. Used in conjunction with the API channel strip it always brings a smile to my face.
