Amazing vibrato!
While i do use the chorus, the vibrato is what I love about this plug in. So rich and thick - it's an aural milkshake!

Galaxy Tape Echo!
What a killer tape emulation! Already, I've used it to great effect on synth tracking - really glued the whole thing together nicely!

Distinctive sound
It is a one trick pony but does his trick very well.
Definitive not a clear modern sound, some people might call it analog.
I like it but don´t use it a lot because it gives easily too much character.

Dreamy, Creamy and Easy.
The EQP-1A always gets the most Spotlight out of these three plugins, and although its definitely one of the most flattering EQ's I have used. I feel that the MEQ needs to get special mention in this review. Most of the mixing difficulty comes from the Midrange. Terms like Boxy, Nasal, Muddy, Thick and strident all relate to a part of the mid range of the audio spectrum. So when it comes to these three EQ's, the EQP 1A sits on my master buss most of the time, but the MEQ tends to be one of the first options to deal with problematic midrange issues. Specifically with guitars and backing vocals.
The learning curve of the EQP1A took me a little while for it to become second nature, but once there all three of these became indispensable tools.

Old skool, old skool....
I have lent on this plug (...well, the previous incarnation anyway) for so many years now. I can't imagine a world without it.

BV saver...
It is great for so many different tasks but nothing rescues a weak backing vocal as quickly and easily this can...

The pedal is emulated so well in this plug-in version that I have official retired my original...

Excellent
This one sounds great on everything! It sounds just like the original. I use it more than RE-201 which is also a great classic delay and echo plugin. Thanks UA!

Good Easy Controls But Still Takes Same DSP as A800
I appreciate the simpler controls on this tape emulation but I am disappointed that the DSP is still pretty high and appears to be the same as the Studer A800. I loaded 4 tracks of this and the DSP load was identical to what 4 tracks of A800 were.

My Favourite Plugin for Colouration
I bought this Plugin for only 50 bucks in the Magnetic Tape Month. I love the coloration of the Plugin. A few days ago I used it on a solo Voice and it adds a really nice Character. To Eq and Compress the Voice to my satisfaction was easier for me than without the Plugin.
I demoed and like the other Plugins like Studer or Ampex also very much but I never bought them because they vere to expensive for me. Also the CPU hit caused by Oxide is not so high which helps me to handle up to 6 Devices with my Solo Card.
So thank you very much for the Magnetic Tape Month and this new Plugin! :)

Multi-dimensional space! Best Roland Dimension D emulation!
I loved the old Roland Dimension D for years and I was so happy that UAD nailed the sound of it. With the UAD Studio D you can give an instrument another dimension from subtle to wide without too much modulation effects compared to the other typical chorus units. It allows you to transfer an instrument to a complete other dimension away from the rest of the stereo mix. So for mixing it became a really great tool for me. Can't live without it!
(Rem: If somebody looks for a more typical stereo chorus with heavy modulation and thickness I would recommand the UAD Brigade Chorus or the TAL-Chorus-LX or the Sknote DDD more.)
PS: I would like to see UAD may bring out other legendary chorus units too (e.g. TC electronic 1210, Roland CE-300 etc.

Easy Pleasey
I'm a long time Slate VTM user, and before that, Waves Kramer Master Tape. I've been finding myself using Oxide as a subtle Comp and EQ plug just as much as a tape emulator. Stick it on the first insert, tweak, and be prepared to suddenly feel like the track is sitting well without any more plugs. I still use the VTM, but Oxide has crept into a close 2nd. Who knows, by next month it could be my go to.....

My Favorite
I have a dozen or so different choruses but this one seems to work the best in a mix. I even us it live (on a effects bus). Great for fattening up guitars and vocals, keyboards or whatever. The Roland D is my go to when I have the option of using my uad-2.
