Finally... FINALLY!
For its specific uses (bass, vocals, etc...), this is without a doubt the best sounding compressor plugin on the market.

Absolutely amazing
Before I had this collection I used the LA2A legacy and love it in the vocals, keys, and strings. Now that I have the collection, my favorite is the silver, it is just an amazing and flexible sound, it just sounds amazing. I like it on guitar and bass.

Best of the Best
Easily the most responsive, accurate and musical of all 1176-type plugins on the market. Truly remarkable.

Very versatile Allarounder
You can achieve easily a professional and MODERN way of sound with this very versatile Channelstrip.
The Dynamics are fast and clear - especially the Comp makes a good modern VCA Sound. The EQ is very musical, great Boosts possible. But it's not a surgery scalpel to fix, instead it's a kind of wide brush to add color and mood.
Using as a unison mic preamp really kicks it!! This tool is really amazing and to be recommanded.

In a different league to the competition!
Having used the competitions emulations of these compressors I cant believe the difference in response and clarity they give. Absolutely blown away!

Warm, fat, analog tone made easy
This is absolutely some of the best money you can spend on a plug-in bundle. The LA-2A grey is the first thing I turn to for warm, fat, analog tone on vocals, acoustic guitars and many other instruments. I have used the hardware versions in many fine studios, and am extremely happy to get the same great vibe in my home/travel rig.
I would also add that the simplicity of these machines and the many interesting presets make these very good -- and forgiving -- plugins for fledgling home-recorders just learning to use compressors.
Great, analog-sounding gear, highly recommended.

Invaluable compressor bundle!
If you're just getting your recording rig together, this is one of the best bundles you could buy -- these compressor plug-ins will do you a world of good. I frequently use the 1176 revA in my signal chain while cutting vocals and acoustic guitars through the Apollo Duo, and all of these variations find their way onto many tracks. Lots of great presets too -- should be invaluable for someone just learning to use compressors.
I also highly recommend the LA2A bundle from Universal Audio. I'm an analog guy from way back and UA plug-ins really give me the warmth and organic 'feel' I look for.

Fantastic EQ
It's incredible how much this EQ sounds like the original hardware. It responds the way I want it to and it sounds so good! I use this EQ on practically everything. 10/10. Keep up the great work Universal Audio!

Complete quality channel strip
I bought the API Strip and the Neve 1073 to test the Unison technology of my Apollo and after recording some guitars and bass with it I decided to sell my low budget hardware preamp.
The results with this preamp are really surprising, the bass and mid are solid and the treble is present but not harsh .
I found the API 512 sound that I know really well at a fifth of the price.
The compressor can respond really fast and works in a lot of material.
Like the 1073 it's DSP hungry so I turn off what I don't need in the strip when recording.
The EQ its classic API and nothing like the Waves one, IMO this one gets really near the original hardware.
Missing an option to turn off the preamp module to save some DSP when using it in the DAW.

Reverb Luxury
Got the 224 with the EMT 140 and 250 and after using them in a long mixing marathon I can say that my reverb arsenal its complete.
The 224 it's the luxury of the reverb plug-ins.
To get a decent reverb sound it takes 2min maximum and I save time in the mixing since I don't have to fiddle with loads of knobs to get a decent reverb sound like before.
You get depth and width from this reverb, the sound its dense.
All the programs are useful.
I never used the real hardware but the plug-in its really good.

Wow! Just Wow!
These are as close to the hardware as you can get, and much closer than the original UAD 1176LN plugin. Love the AE version, and the Rev E. Just used all three versions in a mix this week. The AE saved my butt on a dominant acoustic guitar, the long 10ms attack setting was invaluable. The Rev E was awesome on snare, gives it that BC punch, resonance, and thickness. A must have collection for any serious mixer's toolbox!
