Must to have
I really enjoyed this collection, and i found the ability to turn the compression off and drive the signal thru (especially on Rev A) it's a GREAT way to achieve fuzzy distortion or just fatten things up.
The compression it's really musical on this too.

It's actually superb
This is actually a fantastic emulation of the 224. It does the same 'thing' that the hardware version does, so if you're looking for that specific 224 flavour, you'll get it from this. Being digital, I find the plugin has maybe more top end than the hardware but a little high frequency roll off tames the high end and makes this plugin sound more like the hardware. Brilliant, brilliant bit of kit.

Pultec EQ Collection - best passive eq!!!
Filter HLF-3C, very gently and imperceptibly works and does not alter the sound, EQP-1 simply gorgeous, saturates the sound even without turning the knobs. Apply on vocals, mastering, and everything else!

Striking differences
I love the hardware 1176s. I wasn't sure my ears were going to good enough to hear the differences between these revisions. But they are different. And all useful. From vocals to guitars to overheads. Love them all.

A perfect instrument plugin
If I had the DSP I would use this on every channel. This thing works really well on kick drums.

I put that ish on everything!
I originally bought this cuz I had a buncha coupons and I wanted an "all around" plugin, and lemme tell you - this thing gets used all over my sessions. I love the unison features, but you can put it on anything and it'll work wonders. Do this!

Warm and Fat!
You can just Insert it on a track and it instantly sounds better. You can really fatten things up or smooth things out pretty easily. I highly recommend this collection.

Excellent EQ and Gain sound
Nice plugin. Very musical. It is nice to be able to choose between the Neve 1073 and this API Vision Channel Strip! The API is a bit more flexible and you can spend some time and sculpt some nice mixes with this thing. I'm happy! Very musical plugin!

Must have!
The sound of the 1176 Collection makes any other attempt to reproduce those amazing compressor a waste of time.
I have worked on the real ones several times in many pro recording studios and I found the UAD-2 plug-ins to be so precise in sound and behavior that it made me cry.
The 1176 Classic Limiter Plug-in Collection it's a MUST HAVE.

Instances on every track!? Yes please.
I couldn't be happier with this plugin. I pretty much use it on every track on every project.

Love It!
I was just in the studio with the hardware version of the 224. I A/B-ed it with the plug-in. In a fairly sparse mix, nobody in the room could tell the difference. UAD rocks again.

Absolutely love it
Have never used the hardware so can't compare.
I didn't even listen to the plugin either before buying it, just bought it on recommendations. Have used it for a week now and i absolutely love it.

Alex.
Having purchased a Lexicon unit years ago for live sound I realised the quality of sound the company offered.
The Lexicon 224 plug-in is everything I have dreamed of in a reverb unit.Ease of use and great presets.
A well earned 5 stars.

1176 collection
I had a UA 6176, which I loved but sold after deciding to go "all plugin". I miss the 6176, but not so much now that I have the 1176 Collection.

Great reverb - easy to use!
This reverb is so musical and easy to use. It's easy to dial in a sound real quick and also deep dive if more time is available. No matter what I've thrown it - a tight room sound or a lush hall, it's performed with such ease and is a true pleasure to use.

Musical and smooth.
Many of the UA emulations I can test against the real deal. But when it comes to Pultec and Fairchild gear I can't say the same thing. Having said that I love the combination of either of the Fairchild compressors followed by Pultec EQ. I use an Apollo quad and recently my go to single chain is the UA 610 Pre, Fairchild 670 Comp then into a Pultec EQ. So Musical and smooth.

Outstanding
I do love and use the Neve and the 610AB plugins, but the API has quickly become the one I go to first. Why?
It sounds amazing.
You can get that amazing sound quickly.
(In fact, you have to try very hard to get a bad sound.)
It's layout is clean, thoughtful and intuitive.
It's versatile (It's a great one stop shopping channel strip).
It uses a lot less DSP than the Neve and 610s.
One could go on. But what would be the point?
Great job, UA!

Wonderful for voices
Since this plugin is in my toolbox it's the only to-go for voice treatment. The gain stage gives the "something". The gate is not much used but very natural. The real goodness comes from the compressor and the eq stages. Especially the eq that sculpts the sound in a very good way that is immediately useable and just sounds good.
I don't use many if these plugins in a session, so even if it's DSP heavy, it's still ok.
I've not experienced the analogue API due to budget restriction so I cannot compare. But this channel strip is good value for money and now a reference as much as the UAD SSL strip that is still used for many instrumental tracks.
