Classic dynamics processing that literally works on anything and brings life and body in spades. Use this alongside the LA-2A or another softer compressor of your choice and be prepared to enjoy the sonic thickness!

The Gate and Compressor on this channel strip are worth it alone, never mind the superb preamp and EQ filters. A totally worthwhile purchase if you time the sales right and absolutely worth the DSP usage. Wait till you hear it.

My lack of a budget will never allow me to own the hardware version of an 1176. Thank God there is a company like UA that creates plugins that are 98% as good as the hardware! I'm happy with every product I get from UA! While emulations of hardware do not sound perfectly like the hardware, the plugin brings with it a quality that the hardware does not possess either so it's a good trade off.

One of the best channel strip, with 88RS represent the best of the banks mixer great presence and definition , great eq and compressor . have dsp and not have these plugins, it's a shame. I took advantage of Black Friday ...

This is it!!
This is an absolutely fantastic piece of gear and on my short list of must have plugins. I think it is actually very close to the original! It is very easy to dial in the amount of compression needed, which lets you focus on the actual sound more than technical issues.

Bright and clear
I like gentle saturation of preamp, its make sound more focused and warm. Also I'm very happy with gate/expander, it's very easy way to make drums prepared for mixing.If you have dark sounding source, API Vision EQ the best choice.

3-Times The Charm
I already have the Studer A800 and Ampex ATR-102 plugins and I use them all the time. The reason I got the Oxide Tape was because as soon as I put it on the stereo bus, the mix got clearer. Some the reviewers claim you don't need this plugin if you already have the other two. No, you don't, but they are different from one another. I recently added the Oxide Tape to a stereo drum track and it brought out the clarity I was looking for in the snare, hi-hat and cymbals. It was not like an enhancer or EQ. It added that crystalline analogue quality you find on 70s vinyl, which is exactly what I was looking for in my production.

These are so good.
I have two hardware 1176's. I don't even bother using them when I mix now (only when tracking) because these plugins are so good that I can't be bothered to patch in the hardware. They sound amazing.
