UA is doing so much good work with this current generation of plugs. Almost too many options. I've been fortunate enough to use many of the hardware versions over 30 years and there is very little appreciable sonic difference now. More importantly, the cumulative effect of using these total circuit emulations just makes me smile. It's as close as we've ever been to bridging the gap while retaining the convenience, workflow and mobility of digital.
The API Vision is a workhorse. Learn it inside out and expand as necessary. The Neve 1073, 1176 Collection, LA2A Collection and Fairchild 670 are all fantastic. There really are no bad choices. You'll likely get them all in time. Worry less about the tools and make some music

Great easy to use tape sound
Just as the title says , I have all the tape plugins and this one is definitely the quickest to use ; easy presets to make your tracks sound better

Very cool EQ section and preamp. I want try mixing song with this plugin on all chanel track, but my UAD 2 duo weak for that :)

If you never used it, you don't know how you missed it.
That's the way mixing becomes this warm and smooth character you'll never achieved with conventionell plugins!

Found the secret for drums and Percussion!!!!
In the 8o's I went to a studio in Asbury Park NJ for a session, They made my drums sound so huge and I fell in love with "that" sound, Granted I knew nothing about recording and engineering, 30 years later... I have my own studio and I'm in school for engineering and trying my best to learn how THAT sound was made!!!! After I went through the demo for the Lexicon 224 I realize that "it" was the exact copy of my drums, and Vox, and well everything on the mix. So I'm just gonna say it , and excuse my saying what everyone has already said. Just go for it, it has THE sound and will always be useful and a classic. Between this the EMT 140 and The Eventide you got rev. covered. Thanks Peace to all !!!!

Surprisingly Unexpected
I own the waves la2a and had the legacy edition as well. This is another beast. I have a feeling the other two are about to collect dust. This thing can be worked harder than the aforementioned variations without being obvious. Love it, thanks.

Just Works.
Seems to slip nicely into the mix with relative ease. The manual was an important read, having never used the original hardware. This is easier to use than the relab 480L imho. It also sounds better to me. Bit pricey but it's good.

THIS PLUGIN RUINED MY RELATIONSHIP!
I am extremely upset with UAD for this plugin. Since I purchased it, my relationship is ruined. My girlfriend is upset that I don't spend time with her anymore. But who could blame me when you put this on a vocal?! Boost 8k a bit and bring le that vocal cut through the mix. God damn, this thing is sweet!

Room Brilliance wanted? There it is!
It takes just a moment to realize how many possibilities this revert offers to your music. It has its own character and it doesn't sounds cheap. In fact I bought myself the waves H-Reverb and it can not compare to the lexicon no way. If you're happy with the logic space designer for example you don't know what this unit does.

The Best!!!!!!
I ran this through the tests. The reverb was at the bottom of my list of things to purchase. I mean, lets be honest, a reverb can be a boring purchase when you have a stock reverb and the LX480 that comes with the Slate bundle. I did some A/B testing and tried mixing with all of those. Within minutes of running this demo I ran to hit the purchase button. It offered so much depth and space to my tracks without feeling overprocessed and thin like the others. AMAZING JOB UAD!

OKAY SO I DEMO'D THIS PLUGIN THINKING IT WOULD BE GREAT BUT I HAD NO IDEA HOW MUCH. BEEN TOSSING AND TURNING FOR DAYS DEBATING WHEN TO BUY THIS PLUGIN IT HAS EVERYTHING YOU COULD POSSIBLY NEED IN ONE.

FOR EVERY SONG AND I MEAN EVERY I ALWAYS FIND MYSELF RUNNING MY 1176 PLUG INS WITH THE LA 2A GREY. THE CONTROL AND TAME IS INSANE PLUS THE CHARACTERISTICS OF THE SOUND ARE UNTOUCHABLE.
