I love it
just as awesome as the roland branded plug.

Smooth operator
The LA-2 Grey is my go-to smooth vocal compressor. Combining this with a more aggressive 1176 in a chain really makes a voice sound top dollar. But it isn't just the compression characteristic that I love, it's also the subtle harmonic distortion (tube emulation) that this plugin provides; no others I have used manage to achieve that!

Smoooooooth
People complain about the low frequency hump, but that is what you would expect from tape! The low frequency 'hump' slightly tames the high frequencies and adds a smooth bottom to anything you feel is lacking those characteristics!

Oooooh shiny!
How can an EQ add shine to something and keep it lovely and warm at the same time? For me I use this for vocal sweetening, full mix broad range top end boosts, and low end boosts on drums and bass. Adding 16khz at a broad boost and attenuating at 10khz by a few decibels really does do magical things to a vocal.

A reverb plugin with character!
Editing reverb settings with faders is definitely a new experience for me but it's so simple and it works. It's the only reverb that I've used that gives character, but can still be used in cleaner scenarios.

Silk, Buttery Smooth!
The knobs are like long throw faders but are knobs that are very smooth when boosting or cutting.
I use it on everything!

Excellent for drums and bass!
When Waves plugins were my primary source of software, I avoided the API compressors after a very unsuccessful demo of the products. After trialling the UAD version, I took an immediate decision to purchase this and the 500 series EQs, as I knew I would be using them regularly on sessions.

Incredibly smooth compression even at high ratios
With other emulations of the 1176 units, there is a tendency to lose high frequency information and compression smoothness when compressing at higher ratios or higher gain reduction. The UAD emulation is incredibly smooth even at maximum reduction and 'British Mode' activated, and maintains that high frequency information which is essential for records to really shine!

Every UAD owner needs this plugin in their toolbox!
Love the plugin for rich and thick saturation. Great at taming the highs for drums and synths. UAD do it again :)

One word.... AMAZING
This is on pretty much every mix i do. So versatile. Really shines on bass and vocals. Another top plugin by UAD and the best emulation out there!

Deep, Thick, Rich
So good for that throw back 80s tone. Take the time to really work in your mix and you will find these work for almost everything!

Great Emulation
Very versatile. So close to the original that it makes it a museum piece. We would all love to have one, but the maintenance free plugin is all that and so much easier!

Plug-in quality is getting better and better.
The compression quality is very good.
What the music looks like after it won't lose anything can achieve good results
Be sure to buy this plugin

GREAT JOB UAD!!
I've been using the Slate VTM for years now. VTM gave my mixes depth and a nice dose of glue. While VTM worked and does its job I still felt my mixes lacked the warmth. I've Oxide was the answer!!! It's quick and easy and doesn't tax the DSP. I feel like I've found the flavor my mixes was lacking!!!

"LA-2A Save My Day"
I have recently strayed away from using the Silver and Grey Faces and what a mistake that was. Coming back reminded me of how easy it is to dial it in and just move on. I had spent an hour trying to dial-in a Bass... So, I went to the LA-2A... I was done. It was punchy, even and bright. WOW. DONE! Lesson.....Use your LA-2As. Get em' if you don't have em. REALLY!!! LA-2A are a must, must have. - GILROY
