Great Work UAD!
Putting these on a track without even hitting the threshold puts you in a better place.

Great Sounding With Old School Control
I took some time and compared the UAD 1176 to other similar plugins. There was no question which one I was going with. I delayed working in the box for quite a few years but with the UAD plugins, I've been enjoying mixing in the box more than I thought I ever would.

sounds very good but need MIDI
I love the sound of this plug with clean guitars, you're immediately transported into the 80's.
But...
When pedals where created, the main interest was to keep the hands of the player for playing, and to use the feet for changing the sounds. This plug needs an update with MIDI mapping to able the footswitching of the bypass and the effect type.
A Dry/Wet pot should be a thing too.

Couldn't be happier
Pure Plate is the kind of reverb I hoped would be released on the UAD-2 platform someday. It is extremely simple to use, and it comes with great factory presets as starting points.
I bought the PPR plugin only a couple weeks ago. So, I don't have a lot of stories to tell about it, but wo instances stand out:
(1) Mixing a Logic project where the artist had recorded his B3 organ part entirely on the left side of a stereo track. I put an instance of Pure Plate Reverb on that track, picked a factory preset, then tweaked it to taste. Perfect! It created the perfect amount of sonic ambience within the rest of the stereo field, which made that track sound asewsome.
(2) The other was when I was tracking vocals -- and then later putting it on the vocal bus during mixing. The PPR has all the vibey goodness of a great plate reverb, by exhibiting a sort of natural "ducking" that stays out of the way, and doesn't muddy-up consonants, plosives, and other transients.
So, I'm a huge fan.

No-Nonsense Tape
Probably the easiest to set and forget of the UAD tape machine plugins. Less controls but still adds the tape flavor with the important parameters to tweak.

Long, Rich Tails
Great for the long decay reverb applications. Feels like the original unit. Versatile controls. Used it on vocals and drums so far. Great results so far.

Adds the Tape Flavor Well
Gives character to a sterile-sounding mix. Used it in a mastering situation to add a little bit of that tape saturation/natural compression. Tracking to it gives your tracks that gushy-tapey feel. Very tweakable.

Excellent on Drum Buss
Has a really nice spank to it. Makes drums pop. Does something similar to the Zener Limiter. Very versatile

Snappy Drums
Great preamp for capturing quick transients. EQ is clean and useful. My favorite use is on drum tracks. Overheads and rooms specifically.

What a Reverb!
This is a true Enrichment in my Setup. Snare and Vocals are kissed by the Possibilities of this Plugin. It's Massive.

Chunky
I love this thing. Big and thick and warm. More beef than jerky!

By far the best digital version of the API 2500
I have been a close friend of Paul Wolff since working at The Bayou in Georgetown D.C. in 1978 where he was the house engineer. I became the second FOH guy shortly thereafter.
He built custom devices in the FOH console including the Flanger/Doubler that Softube is doing a digital version of these days (UA..please add this to your product list soon.)
I bought a prototype 2500 from Paul right after he made one for a few old friends of his. It was a magic box for me. I stopped using the SSL Buss Comp on the 8000GB console I worked on daily once I bought my 2500.
The 2500 prototypes (maybe 12 were made) and the following production versions are wonderful pieces of hardware. I never found a digital version that came close until the UA version. If UA were to ask Paul about the changes between the proto and the production versions, it would be a great update to add onto the 2500. If not, the existing 2500 is a steal just as it is.
