Best tape emulation plugin you can get
This is a must for all who mix in the box and don't have access to expensive outboard analog gear. When added to guitars it just adds something that eq would not be able to do,presets are great and worth experimenting with for different flavours.A must for all who mix in your DAW.

Very light on dsp power
I have the twin quad and placed it on 14 tracks and still had power left over for other plugins. I use it like the setup in a real studio.

Studer Tracks
I love the Studer A800 since it is so easy to use, has great sound, and can be used on multiple tracks. I put the Studer plugin in on individual tracks (sometimes mix bus) and use the Ampex plugin for mastering. It's a great combination for professional analog sounding songs.

Sublime!
I'm new to the UAD platform, but I knew that this plugin would be one of the first I purchased. I used a Space Echo extensively in the '90s and this thing really captures everything I loved about that ratty old box of sonic delights!

Really really good!
I love how this compressor adds some punch to my mixes. I've tried other compressors on the buss mix and some can achieve what I hear in my head, but the API 2500 is the only buss compressor that consistently meets or exceeds my expectations. It's the one I will go to first, due to its intangible ability to read my mind (or plays what I want to hear).

Magic on vocals
I love the sound and simplicity of Oxide Tape Recorder plugin. It sits on my vocals bus as last plugin in chain and all the magic happens.
Beautiful saturation, warmth, and opens vocals wonderfully. There is also some lovely width I can't describe, but the minute I bypass Oxide it sounds flat.
I don't know what magic UA put behind it and I don't care :) Oxide Tape Recorder is a must have for me.

True warmth and tone of Tape in a plugin
I'm very (no, extremely) skeptical when it comes to spending substantial $$$ on plugins and this one was no exception. So I really did hard and long research examining the good, bad and potential ugly reviews that can accommodate the pre-investigative work.
But surprisingly, I found far more excellent ratings than anything else. I also acquired as much information as I could in terms of documents and videos on the usage and listening to the results of applying the plugin on a track.
So after much research and digging, I was compelled to dish the bucks for this plugin and I don't regret 1 dime I spent on the investment. It really adds a very noticeable and familiar warmth that I remember well from the analog tape decks. The harmonics really add character that from my experience that pure digital recordings lack.
The gang feature is very useful along with other useful features that allow you to accomplish things that otherwise wouldn't be attainable from using the physical deck.
If you want to make a sound investment as opposed to a quick inexpensive buy, go for it. You won't regret it.

On a scale of 1 to 10, it's a 2500
I was always very happy with another mix compressor I've used for years. Then I tried this, and it felt like I was leaving the Stone Age and entering the period of Enlightenment. I love aggressive-yet-musical compressors, and along with the Fairchild 670 this is the best UA plug in for that colour I've ever heard. Bravo!

Love this Reverb
I really love this reverb. Very powerful and very easy to use and setup for great sound.
It needs very few power for my UAD System and give a lot of power and reverb where i need. It has some good presets! Great plate reverb!

I Really Love this Compressor
Very powerful and helpful tool. I use this for single tracks or for bus channels. It gives you great sound and lot of solutions for a great mix.
As all the API stuff here in UAD, this compressor is AMAZING!!!!

The magic reverb.
It's the reverb you can feel, but can't hear. Fabulous.

WOW!
I haven't had too much time to put this plugin through the paces. However I did experiment with an existing mix by replacing all of the instances of another well known tape emulator with the Oxide and it made a huge difference.

Amazing 80's vintage sound
Sound engineer for CrossAngel:
The album "INTERSTITIUM" has been fully treated with UAD2 in 2017.
Lexicon 224 Digital Reverb and EP-34 Tape Echo give amazing sound for the mix then Precision Multiband, Studer A800, Fairchild 670 Legacy and SPL TwinTube for the mastering. Effective tools that helped keep the analog sound throughout the project. Thanks!

I love this emulation
I think or better listen to my ears, that's the best 1176 plug-in on the market!

A "Must Have"
I was surprised when I've heard this plug for the first time how the signal get more "thickness"! Whatever you need, OH's on Drums, A-Guitars, Vocals ect. Only a light breeze and you hear the difference, do it !
