Great Sound!!
The Neve 1073, is great sounding adding warmth and harmonics to drums, guitar vocal etc. Really good in unison. For an Apollo twin it use´s way to much DSP though!!

Great channel strip with a lot of personality, it has to be understood before using, but when you manage its charachter, it's great.

I've mixed on the real thing and this plugin sounds pretty close..... Too CPU heavy to use on every channel but works great across a few subgroups of sounds to add some " Neve-iness " to things " in the box "

After reading very good reviews on the 88RS. I decided to jump on board. Let me tell you. I am VERY happy I did. This is now my goto Channel Strip. It bring that body to my mixed I was looking for. With the coupon code and discount code I received from UA. I ended up paying NOTHING AT ALL for the plugin. One of the best gifts EVER. Thanks UA. You have a customer for life.

Great classic sound
I do mainly hip hop and r&b vocal tracking and this is a huge upgrade from the 610b that comes with the apollo twin duo. But I must say that the sound of the neve is great unison but I will be looking into a different outboard channel strip, I'm a hands on kind of a guy. This is perfect for mobile sessions where carrying around bulky equipment isn't on the agenda.overall great job UA.

Sound Good, But...
This Plugin sounds really excellent, after buying this one and the API I am asking me if I really need other EQ`s like pultec and co.
Minus one star for misleading manual, I f****d my brains for half of a hour until I realized that those Gate and Compressor diagrams are not quite right. For example the "range" is put in the wrong space. The explanations of Hysterisis is not clear enough...
It makes a little bit suspect, all the hype about the analog sound and how amazing it is, makes me thing those manuals are about selling and not the technical correctness.
p.s. - UA go with time and offer the possibility of external Sidechaining for you compressors and dry/wet Mixknob.

Tout d'abord je ne suis pas un grand connaisseur des 1073. Ce que je peux dire c'est que j'ai fait une série de voix sur un "vrai" 1073 (récent, un Neve AMS avec convertisseurs intégrés), et que j'ai du refaire une autre voix, avec la même chaine, même micro et même compresseur, mais n'ayant plus à disposition le Neve, j'ai dû refaire deux voix en passant par l'unisson de mon Apollo avec le 1073, et le son était très très proche. Je pense qu'au final, on ne pourra pas distinguer le "hard" du "plug".
En ce qui concerne l'EQ, je dirai que parfois ça marche très bien, et parfois moins bien... sur les voix, finalement, je lui préfère l'EQ Maag EQ4, notamment pour le haut du spectre, ainsi que le medium. Mais le Neve est intéressant pour rajouter du grain en poussant un peu le potard (ligne), et utiliser le coupe-bas, très musical.

Disabling LoadLock was the key...
I tried out the 1073 previously, but found that it was draining my DSP so fast that I could never be using as an EQ-plugin as I wanted. Figured it was not worth it. Then I learned about disabling LoadLock which does not use DSP from any sections of the plugin that you don't use and that made me go for this plugin and I've not regretted it. I really love both the EQ and the preamp of this plugin. A slight midtone boost gives the wonderfull vintage sound on vocals, snare drums and many other instruments I was looking for.

Great sounding Pre
Great sounding mic preamp that adds a nice color to whatever you put it on. The full plugin is quite a dsp hog, but using it on the source track on the way in in the console has added some really nice color and clarity to the vocals, and bass I've tried it on.

Great Sounding EQ
This EQ sounds great. If you aren't used to this style of EQ it will take a little getting use to the interface and the bands can be a bit limited, so you will need one of the other Neve EQs to give you further control. Otherwise this is fantastic.

Great emulation!
Although I have yet to dial in a great vocal sound, this sounds amazing on acoustic and electric guitars and EQs bass wonderfully. Where this really shines is on drums. Having worked with real 1073s I can say that although they aren't quite like the real thing they're the best plug in on market by far!

Neve 1073 Preamp is good
Je viens d'acquérir le 1073 ainsi que le voxbox manley et on peut dire qu'ils sont bien complémentaire.
Le 1073 à vraiment un grain particulier, je ne peut pas dire si cela ce rapproche de l'original car je ne l'ai jamais essayer mais ça le fait !
On obtient tout de suite plus de dynamique et l'EQ est vraiment efficace pour apporter différentes couleurs aux voix ou instruments.
Un bon choix, même si juste après l'avoir acheté à 299$, le lendemain celui ci ne coûtait plus que 149$ ! Donc un peut frustré, surtout que je n'est pas eu le droit à l'offre des 3 plug gratuit ( 1073, Fairchild et Oxide ) pour l'achat d'une apollo twin car acheté d'occasion ! D'ailleurs la politique commerciale est le seul défaut, pour l'instant, que je trouve à UA.

Sounds like Neve
You can't go wrong with this 88RS plugin, but it's way to hungry for DSP than SSL emulation and this fact I took a star from my review (channel Strips are supposed to be used in lots os channels). Beside that, the sound is awesome.
UAD, please: update the graphics to better serve large screen. Almost all controllers on UAD plug-ins appears very small on my iMac 5K retina.

Amazing Sound and Flexibility
I already had the 88RS Legacy strip and demoed the new 88RS, put them both on the same track and went back and forth. The 88RS sound is so much closer to the analog board and I was amazed. Both the 88RS and the Legacy version sound great, but have different character, so I use them both.
My only issue with the new 88RS is the DSP use...maybe the most of any plugin I have. That's why it gets a 4. Soundwise, it's a 5.
