Lots of Mojo
This pre, however simple it may seem, has a very rich sound, which sounds beautiful when cranked up without sounding harsh. It's a swiss-army kind of plugin. Everything can benefit from being recorded through this pre in a Unison-enabled Apollo.

Excellent chanel strip
Love this channel strip. The pre and EQ are less aggressive than the 1073. Gate/expander and Compressor/limiter are also great.

Good preamp
Sounds great on bass and adds a lot of weight. Saturates quite easily. Good on vocals as well, for adding a bit of grit.

Great sound
I bought this plugin for my apollo twin.
I have a neumann tlm 102 mic, i found that the mid tones and highs were still a little “empty”. This preamp really helped with thickining the vocal giving it a warm feel.
Definitely a sound i was looking for and happy to add to the bank.

Easier on dsp.
I am very happy with this Neve Preamp. It gives you a nice neve sound using I think half the DSP of the 1073 preamp/eq. I am totally happy with it. I own the 1073 plugin and waited on getting this because I already kinda had it. Now that I have it I find myself using it with my channels coming in through ADAT.

Sublime solution for every situation
I didn't notice a "wow" factor on the first track I put it on. Or the second, or third. But 12 (or so) tracks in I thought "everything is fitting, finding a place, playing well with others". Nothing was fighting and what I was hearing felt cohesive. Easy, actually. Very happy I went with 1084 vs 1073, but that's just taste.

Corrupts Delay Compensation in PT
Consistently corrupts the delay compensation in my PT sessions . Pretty disappointed in UAD's lack of resolution to this problem after all of the money I've invested into using their hardware and software.

Put plan and simple... It's Universal Audio, it's a Neve mic pre! I'm using it on my new album and i wouldn't hesitate recommending any of the UAD plugins! It's big, warm and super clean, push it and hear that Neve saturation on anything you use it on. So again, plan and simple... It's Universal Audio, it's a Neve... Buy It!

Simple & sounds great
Use it to record electric guitar via analogue pedals + tube amp via mic into the box, and so far it’s simple to use and sounds great.
