I always start a mix with the UAD SSL G-Bus to dial in my snare, and recently demoed the Neve. Right out the gate I got another flavor at the default setting. Brings the side image (for me guitars) to the front while preserving the snare transients. No guesswork here. Purchased it rather quickly!

I print my sound with Neve 1073 eq in the console when I record. Now I get that sound I have been searching for on my vocals. Sounds good on everything.

Have been using a number of other bus compressors when I tried the 33609 - it now will be my go to bus compressor for vocals and certain instruments.

I think the benefit of the EQ alone makes it a contender. It allows me to stay in the box with easy automated recall over outboard gear. I used the 1073 often, and feel like I should have grabbed this one first.

Better than I expectez
It took some time to decide if it was worth buying after reading a couple of reviews where it was compared to the hardware. But i tried it on a Female singer and the sound of her Vocal is super clean but warm at the same time after recorded with the 1073 in luna. It was so good and with compression and a reverb it was Done. No eq needed.

I just love it for my pianos. The preamps on this isnt bad either. With all due respect to the 1073, this adds another tool box in my studio flow.

Bought it for live use
I bought this to use as an EQ and noise gate for my vocals while playing live onstage. I like the fact that the legacy version has low DSP usage so I can use it on multiple vocal channels
