Your ears say, “Ahhhh, there the 3D!”
Every time I just engage the eq on the Neve 1073 preamp/eq,..
..without even having made any eq adjustments, what it does to the tone, depth and character of the sound image always makes me smile.
Add to that playing with the saturation flavors of the preamp between mic/line & it just gets juicier, giving me more smiles and even a raised eyebrow or two, perhaps even a chuckle.

It works.
I bought this and was expecting some EQ type effect, a gimmick. Had just received my Apollo, bought for the conversion and DSP not the preamps. I run most things at line level. Now I run at line level, slightly hot through the mic pre with this thing and just listen for it to fatten the tone. It not an EQ effect b/c there is noise as there always will be with transistor based gain circuits. The signal the Neve Preamp puts out is strong and cuts cleanly through giving me a signal to noise ratio that is serious.

Big fan of the neve sound and this one is my favorite followed by the 1084. There’s lots of range with this one and get the sounds I want to hear. Awesome thank you UA

Everything but the heat!
My first major console I worked on was an 88RS. So my first UAD purchase had to be the 88RS Channel Strip. This plug in is amazing. The only thing it is missing is the heat that could start to burn your finger if you held on to a pot or a fader too long
