Amazing!
I have a couple of Neve 1073 pre's and when I tried out this demo I was blown away. I personally can't tell much of a difference if any from my actual pre's and that's a HUGE reason to own this which I now do :).

Perfect Preamp
The Neve 1073 is a very welcome addition to all in the box recordings. Especially for giving life to sampled drum instruments. I'm blessed to actually own a 1073D. A/B comparisons on vocals and string instruments are very close. If you love crisp tracks with as-close-to-authentic recordings, this will give your tracks punch and pronounciation. Worth the upgrade
After having the original channel strip and relying on it when a flexible processor is needed, I didn't think I'd need the new version. Even a simple fader helped my work flow. It the real power came from the unison pre. I found myself traveling for a record and I had my twin and Apollo racks with me. Haveing the 88 pre with me at all times made my job easier and more productive. Now I'm mixing and found the same power I became used to but didn't need to be as much as I committed through the console. Always impressed with these plugins.

Incredible smooth analog distortion
I don't own an Apollo and so I can't use the unison feature. But I use the preamp on all kinds of instruments and the sound is incredibly smooth and 3d. Very useful for some grit.

Good for everything
It can stay even on masterbus without problems. The Legacy one is also great, low resources, excellent behavior.

Great Sound!!
The Neve 1073, is great sounding adding warmth and harmonics to drums, guitar vocal etc. Really good in unison. For an Apollo twin it use´s way to much DSP though!!

Solid Emulation
This was good enough in unison to sell my racked 1272. As UAD upgrades their pres, this plug will get even better. Definitely the best of UAD.

My goto Preamp
My goto preamp using Brauner VMA for vocals. Also for tracking drums. My hardware 1073 are sleeping in the rack nowadays.

What I've always wanted
This channel strip is amazing. I haven't had it long, but everything I run through it sound full and big and more in your face. Really pleased! You can get away with just have this on each track, as there's awesome eq and compression built in.

Love the Unison technology!
Latency and quality are two huge must needed items for me and the 1073 with Unison technology delivers both of those things. I sold my lunchbox and BAE 1073 because I enjoyed the UAD 1073 and Unison technology that much. Love the portability, near zero latency, and quality!

Great channel strip with a lot of personality, it has to be understood before using, but when you manage its charachter, it's great.

Yes, I'd love to have a Neve board in front of me but I don't own a swimming pool filled with cash. These times are exciting because we're crossing the threshold of quality into a world that gives use totally usable and musical tools with which to work. Thanks UA.

I finally bellied up and bought the 1073...(I've demo'd it a couple times).
I truly believe the 1073 / Unison combo puts the UAD/Apollo system in a league by itself.
The detail, power, focus, range etc., the 1073 gives me with a SM7B mic is simply amazing.
I've had a few systems over the years but the UAD/Apollo is the biggest sounding, cleanest, fastest, most powerful ever...by a long way...!!!

I've mixed on the real thing and this plugin sounds pretty close..... Too CPU heavy to use on every channel but works great across a few subgroups of sounds to add some " Neve-iness " to things " in the box "

Cuts like an analogue desk
This is my first UAD review. Just had to say a few words about this wonderful plugin. All the other channel strip plugins I'm using are now going for sale. Here's finally a plug that cuts through the mix like my analogue desk. Try the mid EQ, set the Q low, boost high. No matter which sound you do this on, it will be brought mercyless in your face. Or set the low band to shelf, 33hz, boost it and hear the warmth fill the entire mix. It's filter-like reshaping of sounds. As close as I've come to a real desk. Amazing!
