Du grain !
Tout d'abord je ne suis pas un grand connaisseur des 1073. Ce que je peux dire c'est que j'ai fait une série de voix sur un "vrai" 1073 (récent, un Neve AMS avec convertisseurs intégrés), et que j'ai du refaire une autre voix, avec la même chaine, même micro et même compresseur, mais n'ayant plus à disposition le Neve, j'ai dû refaire deux voix en passant par l'unisson de mon Apollo avec le 1073, et le son était très très proche. Je pense qu'au final, on ne pourra pas distinguer le "hard" du "plug".
En ce qui concerne l'EQ, je dirai que parfois ça marche très bien, et parfois moins bien... sur les voix, finalement, je lui préfère l'EQ Maag EQ4, notamment pour le haut du spectre, ainsi que le medium. Mais le Neve est intéressant pour rajouter du grain en poussant un peu le potard (ligne), et utiliser le coupe-bas, très musical.

Favorite Preamp!
This Neve 1073 is a BEAST of a preamp. Absolutely loving this, from giving lead vox a lot of warmth and color and punch, to cranking the gain for that iconic distortion, ala the lead guitar in the Beatle's Revolution. Finally found *that* sound for my rig.

This is such a fantastic plugin. Everything gels so well within the 88RS. It has definitely become my favorite plugin and I've only owned it for a couple of weeks. Everything I use it on instantly thickens up and finds its clarity. Beautiful emulation. THIS is what Universal Audio is about.

This Channel Strip is great! I use it on almost every channel
Rather neutral workhorse channel strip. Just placing on the channel warms up that track's sound. The Mic level gain input can be used to add cool analog style distortion.
Drums, synth bass, bass, guitar, pads...whatever! Thorough this on the channel and even with 0 modification, it will improve the sound.

perfect combination with 1073
1073 and 1081 are the best combination for any kinds of instruments.different frequencies and if you combine them you can achieve anything you like in a mix. great sounding as always!

Disabling LoadLock was the key...
I tried out the 1073 previously, but found that it was draining my DSP so fast that I could never be using as an EQ-plugin as I wanted. Figured it was not worth it. Then I learned about disabling LoadLock which does not use DSP from any sections of the plugin that you don't use and that made me go for this plugin and I've not regretted it. I really love both the EQ and the preamp of this plugin. A slight midtone boost gives the wonderfull vintage sound on vocals, snare drums and many other instruments I was looking for.

This eq is one of this, Its so good on the vocal, no complaints I am very much happy with it, my next go to eq to purchase soon will be the neve 1073.

The Neve 1073 is GREAT!
I have used the real Neve 1073 preamps & eq's a lot over over the years and this plugin reminds me of the sound and feel of the hardware unit. I have not A/B'd the UAD 1073 vs. an original (nor will I) as I don't think it matters. This is a great tool in its own right.
