I would have paid $1000 for this plug in...it's that good!
This plug in is hands down the best thing that has ever happened to me. A must have for guys trying to master at home. It literally saved several tired mixes I had given up on bringing life, warmth and clarity to otherwise dead mixes. I never thought I would say there is one plug in that can save any mix but this one defys everything I know about digital and home recording. That old expression, "You can't polish a turd?" Well this plug in can. Very musical. Universal Audio has changed my entire perspective and approch to recording and this plug in is the flag ship that transforms your recordings to music. For the first time in my life, I'm smiling at the finished mixes I'm able to put out now.

faster get master
compared to an analog tape recorder we used for the last years, ampex atr-102 accelerates the entire process without audible differences, unless one would be looking for worse analog depending results. I like best the broader tapes and higher speeds. Be careful with calibrating the machine, it easily can sound worse than auto cal. All in all a highly recommendable plug-in to be used at the end of a prod. chain, maybe before final master eq-ing, multiband compression and limiting.

Ampex - Mastering Machine
The Ampex ATR-102 plugin from UA totally rocks. I am primarily an acoustic jazz artist and produce my own recordings. Obviously there's been a lot of great jazz recorded to tape. This plugin captures warmth and glue all in one place, and there is a huge range of sonic enhancement that can be applied. In short, after I demoed this plugin, I had to buy it because it just brings your acoustic mixes together and unifies the timbres of all the instruments in your tunes. The punch and saturation that are added to your mix are subtle and authentic sounding. I don't think I'd want to master records without this plugin anymore. Also, it can function as a sweet tape delay. I can't say enough about this piece of digital gear. Thanks UA!

It is best that is universal audio as always their both Hardwar and plugs present performs best gain on the market can beat maybe they are not even we have to test yourself to see how good it is.

I literally punched the air!
Normally I'm not an upgrade a plugin kinda of person, as I've already paid for it. But I decided to demo this collection because I haven't mixed a record without the original LA2A plugin since 2006. I knew within 60secs on my lead vocals that this was so much closer to my 60s Rev1 LA2A I literally punched the air! This new collection is soo close to post recording processing it blows me and my studio staff away....well done UA!

Leveler Collection: Full of Character, Not Phony Sounding
I really like working with this plugin. Yes, it adds character; at the same time, it doesn't try to be an 'over-the-top-woo-that's-an-LA-2A' thing. It's got subtlety and interesting nonlinearity, like the hardware.
I know, it's supposed to be all about vocals, but it's certainly got broader application. Sounds wonderful with piano, for example.
It's more transparent and interesting than the legacy plugin. As a hardware LA-610 user, I think it's got that vibe, but the important thing isn't whether it's just like hardware, it's whether the plugin stands on its own as a useful creative toolbox. It does.

Not the most exact eq or the most control, but man this plugin gives you that API fattness that you get from analog API gear. Great plugin. EPIC on drums! Love driving the pre!

API Vision
This plugin is absolutly amazing! I am new to Universal Audio having just purchased an apollo twin. I got this as part of the "custom 2" bundle when I registered. I tried all 3 Channel strips offered currently and this one just jumped out at me right from the start. I am sure this is all just preference, but the punch that this CS has to offer is just awesome. I don't want to say " buy it " because the Neve or SSL might be more your thing. Using it for my original stuff " ALA Andy James.... just not as good, lol. " What I will say is this is the best plugin Channel Strip I have ever used.

A great sound! He gives a lot of color and life to my acoustic works.
I have used the EQP-1A on vocal tracks and in all my acoustic and classical guitars

Amazing
I am in awe of this plug in. It kind of makes you wonder what can possibly be next. I mean, who would have thought five or ten years ago that someone would actually solve all the technical problems involved with creating something like this. Now that it's here, it's almost like, "I'm done. I don't need much else" (except some better microphones, lol). The extra metering is very useful, and the presets make setting up fast and easy. Gain control is so nice to have. It's another 5 stars for UA.

The presets make it easy. Just pick one by the title that seems appropriate, fiddle with it a little, and enjoy the results. You can really hear the difference when you turn the knobs and try different settings. Very cool!

i want to use more
I really like the sound of this channel strip .. but it needs so much DSP power that i can not use it on as many tracks as i'd like to... i really hope there comes an update sometime soon ..
for example .. i run 10 APIs and my quad is up to 83% ..

They keep getting better...
So glad that I took the plunge on this. An EQ may not be as sexy when budgeting, but this one is a necessity. The amp stage is modeled extremely well. You hear the tone imparted at different gain levels. Overall, one of the most musical sounding plugins I've ever used. A top 5 for sure.

Total vibe channel!
What I love about this and other UAD plugins compared to plugins by other manufacturers (Waves, etc) is that even when pushed - they don't fall apart like other plugins do. I love UAD's channel strips - I have plenty by other manufacturers but UADs are the ones that feel most "solid" to me. All I need now is for UAD to release a Thunderbolt Octo Satellite and I'll be in heaven as this is a CPU beast - even on my Apollo Twin Duo, I can only get 8 fully loaded mono instances. Bypass unused sections to save on CPU and turn off LOADLOCK! Then you can get some extra API love in your DAW! I love being able to access the whole API "sonic" in one plugin and this is the only way to do it!
