Pultec Passive EQ Collection
I'm finding these plugins to work very well. It's easy to dial in tonality. I now use them on almost everything. Bass, acoustic and electric guitars and even drum sounds benefit form this fabulous modeling. Highly recommended.

one other best investment, buying Ampex ATR-102
It is as like as those complements that iv read during articles on web ... obvious affects of it could be touched as the first attempt to send it at the master bus and unbelievably its warm would faced to you...after using Apollo and several other universal AUDIO plug-ings im indeedly satisfied to use ATR-102 and the next job is having (STUDER) buy the way...THANKS UA

like it
great. better than the first generation. I know its not true to the hardware having a bypass / output volume control but this makes it much more functional and quick to A/B (EQP-1A). The Low boost and Attenuation seem to have a smoother effect through their range as well. 90% of the time I use the EQP-1A though the MEQ-5 and HLF-3C are sweet sounding as well. Presets actually very useful to learn some new tricks.

This thing makes hit records.
Just tried the demo on a finished mix and the artists, my radio guy, and I all just listened in awe. Drums are thunderously awesome, and not out of control. And you can put that "dolby shine trick" on the track. Unreal. Buying now.
There are certain sounds that you just know and have heard on hit records for decades like the LA-2A on guitars, the Fairchild on fat mixes, and now this bad boy. Thank you Universal Audio! You make us make hit records!

Awesome!!
Buy it, you wont regret it.. One the the must have plug-ins from UAD.

super!
Had the legacy version since the early days of the UAD, but this revamped version sounds a lot clearer and more open.. No Brainer!

Perfect channel strip for me
I've never had the pleasure of using a real API board, but for what I do, this plug-in channel strip does all that I need it to. I've demoed the Neve 88 and SSL channel strips from UA and while they are nice, I prefer the API sound. I can't wait to see UA release MKII versions of both of them. The compressor has a nice grab to it that has worked well on any instrument I've thrown at it. Haven't had an opportunity to use the gate yet so I can't comment on that yet.

"My Go-To" Vocal Compressor
Previously using Logic Pro 9 native plugs to compress my vocals, I would often have to work very hard to employ serial or parallel compression techniques, fiddling with the settings until I could get my vocal to sound good on its own, let alone within the mix. The LA-2A plug's simple settings and distinct and sought after "coloration" allows me to spend more time focusing mix overall, rather than fussing over the vocals. Use the LA-2A when you need your compression to be "transparent" with a just a little added warmth.

LA-2A Collection
Love these!!! Especially the LA-2 and the warmth you get just by putting it in the chain.

EQ as it Should Sound
Like the original hardware, it is very difficult to get a bad sound out of these no matter how much boosting or cutting you seem to be doing. Between the EQP-1a and the MEQ-5 you can cover a surprising amount of ground. Even given the limited frequency notches, I don't find myself wishing I had more selections. Aside from how well these modules do as an EQ, the vibe you get from just putting this in your signal chain is great. Super rich and fat. Whether I'm using any EQ or not, the EQP-1 or the MEQ-5 will always be on my master buss just for the warmth.

API Vision Channel Strip
I have another API EQ and compressor from another company, so I was not to interested in this channel strip. Out of curiosity, I decided to compare the two. With the other API plug ins being around 7 years old, todays technology has proven to provide better molding than was done back then. The API Vision EQ and compressors just have more of that analog sound since they modeled more than the EQ curves. All the transformers and circuits were modeled quite well with the Vision. It is best to use cleaner type mic pre's when you record to get more of the API pre sound. It adds a gentle pleasant character of API to your mix. Presets are a great start to get some amazing drums, guitars, or bass sounds to your mix. Highly recommended.

Studer A 800 - Incredible
I have just moved across from waves plug ins to UAD. I had the full waves package and I have to say this plug in blows any of there tape emulation plug ins out of the water. Incredible and worth every penny for everything.

Ua do it again!
I was seriously considering buying a 500 series pultec style eq.
Until I heard the pultec collection at work. The legacy model is fantastic I agree, but the collection has everything you need in eq plug ins! It's character too is undeniable. Great plugs, great sound I'm sold!
Would be as well selling all my hardware and other plugins the way ua is making these!

Best tape emulation I've used
Great job UA! This is the best tape plug out there IMHO! Thank you for the ability to turn the noise off! I use this on 95% of the projects I do! Gets more use than the Studer plug which is also great!

More subtle than the 1st version
Great EQ!!! I use it on most projects-not all! This and the original version of the plug definitely have a "thing" gong on in the high mids. More subtle and refined on the new version though!
There's a cool thing that this does on a buss that almost gives the illusion of doing something really cool to the stereo field, which it isn't messing that up at all. If you have a mix that is kinda meh sounding throw this on and check it out, you literally don't have to set anything. Just running it in the signal path will color it in a cool way!
Should have been a free upgrade though!
